Pint can from the brewery. Pours a hazy golden colour with a finger of foamy white head with retention and much lacing, some floaties. Quite possibly the best smelling beer I have ever come in contact with; bold citrus nose with floral notes, pine; sharp bitterness up front, a bit juicy, lots of grapefruit. and a touch of pineapple on the back end. A little sticky on the palate. What a monster. Well worth waiting in line for.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can... Pours murky and orange with a golden hue and a mid-sized, fragile, white head. The aroma is a jumbled assortment of citrus fruits, accompanied by a slightly reduced component of pine resin. Medium-bodied to full-bodied and a touch raspy with adequate carbonation. The flavor features a truckload of citrus zest, rinds and pine sap. Heavily bitter with a lengthy, lightly raspy, moderately dry finish. Very little residual sugar is evident here, even as it warms.

16 oz. can.. Originally reviewed sometime in 2014.
Deep orange. Hazy. Nice white head and some wisping. Medium collar.
Smell is very citrusy. Sharp citrus and a little booze. Some cracker malt and pale malt.
Tastes of lots of citrus. Orange. Nothing sweet about it, really. Almost abrasive in its hop profile. Maybe astringent, too.
Very dry. Accentuates the alcohol. Light bitterness lingers. Medium carbonation and body.
As described, it’s REALLY hoppy and citrusy. Nothing balanced about it at all.

Thx to my cousin. Very strong and enjoyable citrusy, floral aroma. Taste: Caramel, candied grapefruit, punch, fresh grains, muted yeast. Rich, big, clean, and sweet. The head brewer says this stuff can sneak up on you - heed his words. Maybe not as surprising and/or revelatory as TH is at first but another excellent release from Alchemist.

Tap at brewery into a stemless wineglass showing cloudy white orange and one finger of bubbly white foam.
The nose shows moderately intense pineapple and pine.
The palate is medium bodied and smooth but fully carbonated. A lot of sharp resinous pine with citric pineapple softening out the edges. Mod bitterness on finish with clean pineapple on the linger.

Thanks to Kevin for this. Man this blew my head off. Pours deeply cloudy golden yellow with a moderate white froth. Aroma is big citrus with a hint of orange. Taste is mind blowing. Tons of citrus, grapefruit and a touch of orange hops. Intense hop bitterness but big malt sweetness cuts it nicely. Pissed off I only have one can.

Has a nice grapefruit, floral hoppy aroma balanced by light malt. Taste is hoppy with some light citrusy fruitiness. Hops linger for a bit in the after taste. It’s quite smooth and drinkable for how strong it is.
