2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BeerSkull (675) - SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2011
Vaguely sweet malt fragrance with grassy hops aroma. Sweet, watery and edgy malt taste with a disappointing bitterness. Drinkable, but no more!
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 28, 2011
Bottled. Hazy golden, mid-sized head. Fruity with doughy malt. MId sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Almost no bitterness. Not the best unfiltered lager ever, but fantastic considering it’s made by made by a Carlsberg owned brewery.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JoeMcPhee (6959) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2011
Bottle. Hazy/cloudy yellow-straw pour topped by a thick sticky white head. A damn fine looking pint. The aroma is lightly fruity with a little bit of marshmallow and a bit of hay. A lightly wheaty spiciness over some fairly neutral malt components. A little bit of light stickiness and a touch of fruit. It’s a fairly simple brew, but in the context of what I’ve had here to date, it’s quite unique and pretty tasty.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 dnoaksson (403) - , SWEDEN - AUG 10, 2011
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 suurjuust (350) - Tartu, ESTONIA - OCT 21, 2010
Bottle. Pours a hazy, cloudy golden honey with a rich head. Intriguing aroma with honey, grain, grass some malt in the backround. Tastes honeyish at first, finishes with a dry, grassy, mild note and leaves a bitter, hoppy aftertaste with hints of sour bread. A good brew.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 20, 2010
(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with lasting frothy white head. Malty nose with grain, bread, grass and hints of citrus and honey. Malty, slightly hoppy taste with notes of grain, bread, citrus and decent amounts of grassy hops. A hint of smoke coming through after a while. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite sharp carbonation. Not really exceptional, but better than I expected from a Latvian pale lager. Not overly sweet and quite tasty with a nice hop character.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 FatPhil (6205) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 9, 2010
500ml bottle (Rimi, Riga)
5 Simply light grainy aroma.
3 Rich gold, bready head.
5 Simply light grainy taste, some honey. No complexity, no hook. Designed for flinging down the back of your gullet.
3 Crisp palate, a little watery, and with quite sharp carbonation. Finish has quite a lot of drying, just short of papery, resiny hops.
9 Rather simple lager, but defintitely not a bad lager. Certainly made from fresh ingredients, but a little lacking in body.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 estpiwo (985) - ESTONIA - AUG 23, 2010
Bottle. Hazy golden color with huge head. Aroma of yeast, malts. Flavor is quite bitter, some smoky tones. Dry bitter aftertaste.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maris (540) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 3, 2010
From a 500ml bottle on 27/7/2010. Pours very cloudy with a golden hue, not dissimilar to Cooper’s Sparkling. The aroma is citrus fruit with a dash of apricot nectar. Has a fruity taste and a fair hop presence which again reminds me a bit of Cooper’s Sparkling, though less distinctive. Still, this is a nice and refreshing.
