Aldara Gaišais (Aldaris pale beer) is a classical quality light beer with a fresh hops aroma and a soft bitter taste. This type of beer is an ideal thirst quencher and a perfect companion for a night out with friends.

500 ml bottle, bought in Riga. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Pleasant fruity and flowery aroma. Relatively sweet pale lager flavour, light bodied and thin, hints of fruit and honey, low bitterness. Far from exciting, but not offensive either.

Bottled. An anaemic pale gold coloured beer with some beige bubbles for a head. The aroma is corny with some buttery notes and doesn’t draw you in. The taste is thin, with just a little grassy hop. Inofffensive but very dull.

Bottle sampled with The Mad Indian. Pours pale yellow with a decent size white head. Aroma of sweet malts, with no traces of hops. The flavor is sweet malts and musty yeast. Nothing good here.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2005 (Botle 50 cl) Very pale, slightly hazy beer. Looks almost like a Belgian witbier. Creamy, stable head leaving laces on my glass. If this really is a lager, it’s really rather unusual because of it’s odd wheaty touch. Slightly sourish and quite fresh. According to the Aldaris website this is a lager made pale with some barley-starch. But all in all surprisingly nice. 160104
