2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Wulfstan (509) - USA - JUN 4, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 This is decent, but more bland and mroe American-tasting than I expected, lacking the herbal hop character I usually enjoy in European lagers. It’s gold with a huge white head that steadily shrinks to a thin lasting head and leaves a little weak lace. The aroma is mostly corn tortillas with some grain, bread, grass, and pine. It’s full and pleasant, but defintiely heavy on the corn quality and lacking on hops. The taste is similar, grain, especially corn tortillas again, a light alcoholic quality, very light herbal bitterness, light zestiness, a hint of spiciness, hint of grass, and a grain-corn finish. The corn quality gets a little tiresome by the end. It’s more like a US macro lager with more flavour than many, and seems like a higher quality, cleaner, more well-crafted Red Dog, because of the dominant corn character. This also remidns me of Colt 45. Luksus is clearly better than both, but not a lot. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Svyturus, from neighbouring Lithuania, butthis lacks the herbal hop quality.

Piwo z puszki w smaku malo chmielowej goryczy, płaskie, kartonowe, plytki ostry smak. Piję na kacu i daje mi chwilę orzeźwienia i ulgi, bo normalnie ocenilbym je chyba jeszcze niżej

500ml bottle in a shaker. Pours light golden with a thick, white head. Aroma of tin, dry white bread, and hardly any hops. Flavor the same. Don’t waste your time with this beer.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Benjii (2328) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 17, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2011 On keg in Riga. A blonde lager with a large white head. Metallic aroma with bready yeast notes. Flavours of caramel, bready yeast and barley. Nicely bitter. Moderate carbonation and a little CO2 prickle. A metallic aftertaste spoils this beer which could otherwise pass for an Aussie lager. A long biscuity linger and a foamy mouth-feel.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dnoaksson (403) - , SWEDEN - AUG 10, 2011
Av allt ett öl kan smaka väljer Aldara Lukus att smaka nästintill ingenting - eller åtminstone så lite som möjligt. Eftersom det är en lager kan man kosta på sig att vara förlåtande och låta det gå ned i strupen för den här gången.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 cheapdark (2956) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 23, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2011 Big brown bottle. Nice clean aroma. Looks decent in the glass. First taste is rather rude for a lager, comes across more like high gravity or cheap malt liquor. Aactually seems to be much more than the 5% listed here, more like 7%. Gets a little more civilized as the session continues. However it still has that little nasty bitter background.

Taste is bready malt, honey, buttery biscuit grassy hops and light, zesty lemon. Body is light-medium with a pleasant dryness and a crisp feel. Ends with a touch bigger hop bitterness, more honey, bread dough, grains and light lemon.
