3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BlackDonald (1127) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 5, 2008
Not under or overwhelming, just enjoyable. A nice bit of roastiness carries you through the entire pint. A bit of dark bready maltiness with some chocolate, jammy dark fruits and a hint of licorice are present as well. Decent.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 esjaygee (2496) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 27, 2008
Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, toasted malts and black licorice. Taste of caramel, bread, alcohol, molasses with a molasses aftertaste. A touch watery and the alcohol is too prevalent, made finishing this one a chore. So-so.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 RCL (2025) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 21, 2008
Decent porter. Pours a very dark brown. Light cashew nuttiness in the aroma. The flavor is medium sweet with light roasty accents.

I really enjoyed this Porter. My sinus’s were a bit stopped up, so I may have enjoyed it a bit more with a clear head. Nice roasted flavor.
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 9, 2008
Very dark reddish brown with large light brown head. Fantastic light coffee and smooth roast in the taste. A bit of dark fruit. Not too sweet. Fucking lovely. Just a very enjoyable, fairly light beer, that gave me what I wanted.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep, black, chocolate toffee color, with a little stained-glass red peeking through on the edges. Big, lasting head. This is quite an excellent Baltic porter. Reminiscent at times of a Dunkel in it’s brown sugary sweetness. Big, rich, creamy...and highly drinkable. Mild and watery mouthfeel, not much hop character...but that fits the style. Slight alcohol warming grows throughout. A great beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 2, 2008
Purple-tinted black crowned by a creamy, brown head. Melty dark chocolate, coffee and star anise swirl together over tangy malts, picking up a basil spiciness. Boldly sweet malts mix it up with plums and chocolate before a roasted-bitter finish. Oily and thick, soft carbonation.
Significantly sweet, well roasted, feels bigger than 6,8%.
50cl bottle, best before 20.08.2008.
