Bottle. Pours a very dark brown, almost, slightly cola-tinged. Head is medium and beige, dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is roasted, malty, coffee, tones of liquorice and cacao as well as floweriness. Taste is sweet, roasted, molasses, dark fruits, tones of coffee, chocolate. Finish and aftertaste have tones of woody and flowery hops in them. Aftertaste is also sweet, roasted, chocolatey. Palate is full, not very carbonated.

From the 25 fl. oz. bottle marked Batch no. 811. This is the second Baltic Porter that I have reviewed tonight and this one is the superior one. It pours dark brown to almost black with a hefty head. The aroma is nicely malted, sweet, and yeasty. The body is about medium and smooth and glistens on the tongue. The taste is moderately bitter with a noticeable hop bite at the end. It is not like the smoky Porters I prefer but it has a nice character all in all.

Bottle from my gf. Pours dark amber with a huge frothy tanned head. Aroma of raisins, light roasted malts and milk chocolate. Taste is smooth like velvet, good balanced, moderate sweet malts, bitterness from dark malts, coffee with a very light roasted note provides just the right bitter counterwight. Sticky mouthfeel. Lingering malty caramel sweetness.

Almost black porter. Sweet caramel notes, with cocoa and underlying roastiness. Some tones of coffee and licorice too. Has slightly roasted coffee, chocolate and licorice on flavor ending with some dried fruits and easy bitterness. Nice, balanced baltic porter.

Pours deep brown with a healthy tan head. Super deep amber/blood colored straight through when held up to the light. Smells like a schwarzbier, lightly roasty with lot’s of lager character and some noble/grassy hops. A little cocoa as well. Not terribly interesting in this respect. Flavor is much more like a bp, all this unexpected sweetness comforts my palate, the beer now gives the impression of milk chocolate. light spicy herbal hops, light-to-mild bitterness, a touch of burnt bread. Still rather lagerish. Medium body. Not much carbonation on the tongue. Booze and bitterness make the flavor get old after a while. Needs a bit more roast and a bit less bitterness actually.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a large light brown head. Aroma is slightly roasty and very sweet (brown/candy sugar). Flavor is not overly complex, mostly sweet malts and maybe some brown sugar. Finish is slightly dry. Doesn’t really seem like a porter. It’s drinkable but not great.
