3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 zenkis (257) - Ogre, LATVIA - SEP 7, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 My 2nd casual LV beer. Pours almost black, dark reddish. Creamy, frothy foam middle lasting, very small lacing. Aroma - casual lager hops, a bit roasted malt, sweet creamy, far away tones of cocoa, at late stages some alcohol comes through with not barley cereals. Taste is sweet, creamy, mild bitterness from roast and from hops. Above medium bodied with creamy texture, mild carbonation. Cause it is (by the end of 2012th it is not any more) best dark beer so far made in my republic, from perspective price/performance it is secure OK, very drinkable. I wish some day some local brewer will beat that! (done)
PS: from local tradition to make sweet brews, this is mixed, balanced enough good to be enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jrodooo5 (496) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - AUG 8, 2012
Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head that leaves moderate lacing. The aroma is a little faint - it has a subtle malty scent. The taste is medium bodied and smooth. It’s fairly heavy on the malt with essentially no hop presence. It’s some nice hints of roastiness and chocolate up front and then finishes pretty clean. A very nice beer at a ridiculously affordable price!
