Bottle from Beers of the World. Pours a very deep dark almost black body with a red tint and a medium light tan head. Some decent lacing. Unique aroma of roasted malts, cinnamon, clove, candy-like, with some skunky background scents. Flavor is lightly toasted sweet malts, some herbs and spices, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Smooth, medium bodied. A bit cloying, and much sweeter than other baltic porters I’ve tried. Good beer overall.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - MAY 2, 2010
Bottle 0,5 l. Dark brown black with sodalike beige head, which eventually fades out. Nose is malty with roasted caramel, liqourice and some chocolate and alcohol. Flavor is pretty spicy with strong liqouricey sting. Slightly sour in a baltic porter way, but overall pretty easy drinking. Leans more into german doppelbock than imperial stout. Some alcohol roundness in the aftertaste. Pretty good overall and tasty.
