500ml bottle. Deep dark brown color. Small brown head diminishes to tiny head quite quickly. Chocolate, roast, malty, slightly bready aroma. Mellow roast, slightly buttery, malty, chocolate, raisins in flavor. Smooth and silky to drink.

Flaska. Mörkbrun-röd öl med smutsvitt skum. Dofter av kaffe, karamell och rostad malt. Smakinslag av desamma samt lakrits och choklad. Mjuk munkänsla. Lätt beska.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Mahogany with a frothy tan head. Starts sweet and fruity. Quite vinous, but with some bitter liquorice and chocolate notes. Nice chewy finish. Tasty and easy drinking.

Had a few of these at a nice little Russian restaurant right near the Ballston stop just outside of Washington, DC. Dark brown pour. Huge malt and caramel bomb. Excellent pairing with the rich food we were enjoying.

Pours dark with a small tan head. Malty aroma with a hint of roasted coffee. Taste is soft, has begins with malts, then coffee and has a nice dark chocolate finish with slight bitterness. Soft mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Very nice although I agree there’s a small metallic taste to it which is a bit distracting.

Nice porter with a lot of flavor. The downside is that it’s a bit metallic in the taste, but otherwise a very good and quite easy to drink porter.

Bottle. Black, minimal beige shead. Caramel and chestnut aroma. Really sweet. Dry, yet refreshing. Soft carbonation, medium/light body. Feels good in your stomach (if that says something). Overrated and far from the best (according to the ratings of this site) Latvian beer.

Bottle at Rohalls in Buffalo. Lighter bodied black pour, kind of flat. Medium roastiness, caramel maltiness, light mouthfeel. Decent flavor, not bad. 1st Latvian beer???
