this is not the best Baltic Porter we have taste tested but it wasn’t the worst... pretty average tasting and of course, sweet. Get Baltika 6 or Black Boss for better examples of this style

Sweet aroma of roasted malt, brown sugar and figs. The taste is sweet but also quite bitter with notes of roasted malt, brown sugar and figs. Not a particularly good beer!

En öl jag faktisk tycker doftar kolsyra (hur nu det doftar, men det doftar den) Annars fyllig vätska men inte så särskilt utpräglat smak. Inga karakteristiska brända toner eller så.

500 ml. bottle. Dark brown color with a tan bumpy head. Aroma of dark molasses and grain, with a bit of an HP sauce or vegemite element. Sweet, cloying molasses malt flavor, dark brown sugar, and dark karo drowning branny grains. No roasty or hoppy bitterness detected here which would be welcome to balance the big sweetness. Lightly syrupy and oily body. Maybe I’m spoiled by the stateside brews, but this is just too sweet and syrupy for my taste. Can barely finish it.

Cola brown with cascading head. Head is huge and light brown. Nose is light chemical-chloriney. Light bodied, bold coffee, one dimensional. It's a coffee drink!

50 cl, bottled. Pours cloudy red with a wheat head. Aroma: Caramel, malt, chocolate. Taste: Sweet, minimal bitterness. Really sweet. Caramel. Chocolate and salmiakki. Palate: Light, watery, real disappointment. Weird that I would rather sniff it than drink it if I had to choose one. It’s is drinkable, tho.

This is porter? Maybe I don’t know what a true porter is, but this was carmel colored, no roasted profile, candied like a watered down bad Imperial Stout. I disagree with most raters, this is bad beer. I may never again drink Latvian beer.

Beer pours (in Chimay glass) a dark brown-red light can penetrate with almost no head that quickly dissipates to nothing. Aroma is of live animal skin/hair with molasses, hard candy. Flavor is of alcohol and water with woody notes. Feels watery in the mouth. This beer has an oily aftertaste. Sampled at 73 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sweet vinous, fruity aroma has some alcohol and some roast apparent. Clear mahogany brown body with shy, large bubbled tan head that recedes immediately to a very slight ring. Extremely sweet and somewhat boozy with strong sugary fruit character and some light roast. Medium body with very low carbonation that feels very still and unexciting in the mouth. I guess this bottle wasn’t in the best of shape. Half pint glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (State Line Liquors, MD, Oct-05).

Light smoke aroma. Pour is dark opaque with a very thin head. Generic heavy and sweet taste, but not complex. Finishes a bit more hoppy with charcoal. Not a very good porter.
