Also known as Zelta Premium Beer.
Aldaris Zelta (Gold) is a classically brewed lager with a mild bitterness, hop flavor and pure malt taste.

I'm not a fan of blond ales, but an opportunity to try a beer from Latvia is not one to miss. I am glad I tried this because it is a well balanced blond with a warming alcohol content that never dominates. The malt body is firm with a gentle nod toward sweetness, and the hops are aromatically bitter with a mild citric zing. Mmmm. This is a very tasty blond! Strongly recommended.

The common beer in Riga bars. Good on tap and a reasonable example of a European lager.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2003 Very foamy head of pure white bubbles that does not last long. Ok carbonation. Color is a pathetic of light, pale yellow. Typical light malt/hops aroma from imported lagers. Initial taste is metallic and slightly sour and altogether weak. Finish is bitter with minimal hops. Not a very good beer. Try the porter from Aldaris. Much, Much better!

Ah, the Legend of Zelta. Nice gold packaging even. I fought through all those dungeons and slayed the monsters with nothing but my sword, boomerang, and some well placed bombs. I even solved a few puzzles and got swords from weird old men. It's too bad the princess turned out to be a skunk.

Pale gold in color, nice head just weak (Josh does not know how to pour beer ...). Great stuff, in great place. It went so nice with that Blondie, to bad she did not want give us Ice Aldaris ... Ok, seriously light stuff, boring, not much to offer.

Straw colour; fruity aroma - some plastic, too. A little malt, herbal hops, apple. Mild and more or less drinkable.

Kind of a musty, damp clothing kind of aroma to it. Pithy, white head with a fair amount of lacing. Dull, un-hoppy flavor. May be suffering from long shelf life. Overall, not the most pleasant drinking experience. Bad aftertaste - reminds me of drinking orange juice immediately after brushing teeth.

Very pale, nice crimson/gold label with good homebrew-suitable bottle -- not like in the picture. Tall white pithy head. Faint, but cutting lager aroma. Grainy, starchy and slightly stale flavor. Otherwise, its pretty much American Standard. Tart, clingy aftertaste. Adjuncty.

Sweet malt, hazy golden, medium head. Candied lemon/butterscotch flavour. Good tartness, a very tasty lager.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2003 Aldaris...isn't that a star in the Orion Galaxy? Anyway, what a weird name for a beer that is pretty weird itself. Weird-looking head, sort of clumpy. Latvian brews rarely impress. Yeasty, herbal and metallic, the taste is oddly bitter. Remarkably, the 5.2% alcohol is noticeable. Not a good thing.
