2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 DruncanVeasey (5136) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2006
Crisp malty flavour. Shiny gold can. Probably bagged a sixpack in the airport. Bead disappears after about 5mins. A bit like drinking lager cordial. Nevertheless, a worthwhile souvenir of any Latvian expedition.

Golden coloured. Weak aroma. Sweet flavour with notes of hay. Boring, bland and light.

A slight haze with a nice head with good lace. A dry malt flavor with a decent hops balance. A sulfur/metalic finish does it in though. After warming these flavors did diminish, but first impressions count in flavor.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Rune (4922) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 23, 2012
500ml flip-top bottle, as Zelta Premium 5.2% abv., beer gift from Helga. Crystal clear, golden body. Fragile lacing from a airy, chalk white head. Plain grainy malts to the nose. Taste of sweet, bready malts. Dry, sweet fruity end. Minimal hops. Soft carbonated. Standard for the style (shared with Frau Eva, 20.03.2012).
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 HogTownHarry (4872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 23, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2005 Bottle (500ml). Poured clear gold with a decent sized soapy white head. Very vegetal-grainy, but not too sour, not to corny - it’s even a bit perfumy and there is a grassy hop aroma too. Taste is a bit lemony, sweet but not malty, and fresh-cut clover. Light but okay. Not much going on palate-wise. Incredibly quick finish and no aftertaste. Easy to drink, not offensive - beats many generic euro/pale lagers.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 heemer77 (4792) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 21, 2005
Medium gold body that is slightly hazy. A white head on top. The aroma has celery and carrots. There is also a note of tangy citrus. The taste is very sweet with corn and some carrots. There is also a light finish of green bell peppers. Needs more hops to balance the sweet body.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - AUG 31, 2003
I'm not a fan of blond ales, but an opportunity to try a beer from Latvia is not one to miss. I am glad I tried this because it is a well balanced blond with a warming alcohol content that never dominates. The malt body is firm with a gentle nod toward sweetness, and the hops are aromatically bitter with a mild citric zing. Mmmm. This is a very tasty blond! Strongly recommended.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Braudog (4604) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - NOV 29, 2007
Bottle: POured mellow-yellow with a foamy white head. The aroma is quite sweet and soapy, like dish detergent. Presents itself as a bit stronger than 5.2%, a tad warming. But overall, this drinks quite smooth in the Euro-lager tradition ... a tad biscuity, but in a very mellow balanced way, with a kiss of continental hop at the finish. Underrated. (#3223, 11/29/2007)
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 KnutAlbert (4587) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 25, 2008
Bottle in Riga.
Sweetish lager, too anonymous compared to the other beers available in Riga. Not bad, not offensive, just boring.
