Skyview (3060), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 10, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pours a semi-hazy coppery amber brew with a thick, lumpy off-white head that stays throughout the glass (pour through finish). One of the best retentions I’ve seen. Aroma of light multi-grain biscuits, critusy hops, sweet apples and a touch of yeast. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a good balance of caramel malt and citrus zest bitterness. Finish has a mild citrus bite with a slight pepper flavor in the aftertaste.
tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 22, 2008 Bready malts , butterscotch, grapefruit and notes of pine in the nose. Opaque golden tan body is topped by a generous and lasting foamy white head that laces. Flavour leans heavily towards the hops - grapefruit and pine are the main notes. Bitterness is quite pronounced and somewhat sharp with underlying bread-like malts notable only in the aftertaste. Medium body is quite dry and carbonation is a bit over the top feeling sharp on the tongue and distracting from overall enjoyment. Snifter. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Bottleworks, Aug-08). Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle--Poured a medium amber-copper body with a thick off-white head. Piny, spicily hopped sharp nose. Carbonic prickly sharp mouthfeel . Finished with a good amount of citrus and floral hops over the tongue. Quite refreshing but unbalanced. AmEricanbrew (1115), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 Clear dark amber with a frothy off white head. Mild piney hop/sweet bread malt aroma. Medium body and smooth. Nice well balanced flavor with caramel sweetness perfectly balanced by lightly bitter fresh floral hops. A classic PNW session ale. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jun 11, 2008 Name: American Style Pale Ale
bitbucket (1601), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a massive, fluffy, lacy pale yellow head. Light aroma of mango, cotton candy, Medium body and light carbonation. A bit of fruit and toffee in the taste, but it has a bitter finish with a husky/grainy quality that increases with each swallow. I really wanted to like this one, but it’s only OK.
