maeib (3917), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 16, 2008 Bottled. A light gold coloured beer with no head. A nice toasty lager with some buttery malts in the aroma. Decent hops in the flavour, but it’s that toastiness which raises it above most Helles. Enjoyed it. DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Mar 8, 2008 Bright spiralling gold. Soapy conifer aroma with touches of honey and almond. Soft, malty, straw and pine-accented. A bit like licking a freshly polished table. Alcohol barely noticeable. Grain, pencilly noble hop, faint biscuit. OK. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Jan 28, 2008 Bottle. Golden coloured. Malty, slightly sweet, grainy aroma. Flavour is soft, slightly sweet, a little cloying, mild bitterness. Quite average. leaparsons (3878), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Sep 19, 2007 Bottle. Golden with a small head. Aromas are crisp, clean and hoppy. Dry biscuit malts with herbal notes. Flavours are grain with a crisp, hoppy finish. OK. Fin (2164), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 1, 2007 Bottle picked up from Dodgy Deli’ Cowley Road, Oxford tasted much more like a Helles than the Augustiner that I had earlier. Golden in colour, white foamy head. Malt and grains in the aroma, soft tasting, some sweetness, easy drinking, malts quite pronounced tasty.
