Thick, brownish head sits atop this oil-black stout. Nose is chocolate and a whiff of coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, no coffee taste though. Very solid, smooth stout.

Slick. Slightly sweet. Nutty earthy aromas. Roast notes are low but this beer is just wonderful.

On tap @ Ale Asylum. Pour is deep brown/black with a tan head. Aroma smells like a chocolate oatmeal cookie with a touch of coffee. Flavor shows the same with nice roast and a touch of nutiness. Overall body is
moderate and creamy soft with a nicely roasted bitterness on the finish.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Ale Asylum in Madison, WI. Appearance a very dark black with rich off white head. Aroma of coffee, light lactose, oats, very nice. Taste is very good, oat comes out, light hop biiterness, also very nice. Very good oatmeal stout!

Draft at Ale Asylum, where else. Murky black with half-finger of light brown head. Nose is roasted chocolate malts, with hints of coffee and sweet cream. Straightforward taste: more chocolate, roasted coffee, with a hint of nuttiness and smooth oatmeal texture. The thicker mouthfeel is really what sets this apart from, say, NG Road Slush. Pretty great.

6oz sample. Pitch black pour with a khaki head. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate, roasted malts, and light oat. Excellent on the palate, oat, roasted malts, chocolate, and a lightly sweet finish.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 arkurzynski (846) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 1, 2011
Deep, pillowy black. Soft roast/coffee, milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder. Clean roasted malt, cocoa, toffee, light brown sugar, lactose-esque sweetness. Great medium+ mouthfeel from the oatmeal. Lives up to its name of being a little slick, with great roast residual hanging on.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 kbutler1 (1115) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 26, 2011
Draft. Pint glass poured a dark brown/black color with a nice 1 finger, thick tan head. Slightly roasty coffee aroma but otherwise not an overly strong nose. Medium mouthfeel. Dark fruit and slight roast coffee. Pretty smooth. Slight sweetness. A little booze notes in the end. Nice lace. Overall, a decent nice drinking stout.
