Tap sample. Poured hazy brown color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium roasted malt and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium spicy sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid brew.

On tap at the Ale Asylum Brew Pub. Poured a deeper amberish / brownish color with a small sized off white head. Had a light haze to it. Aromas of bananas, spices, raisins, plums and some yeast. Tastes of fruits, raisins, caramel, and spices.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a hazy dark copper amber with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh, lightly biscuity Belgian malt with a touch of yeast and light citrus. Body starts fairly full with some nice lightly sweet caramel malt and an orange citrus balance toward a bready, semi-dry finish. A nice Belgian ale.

On tap at the Ale Asylum. Poured a hazy, darker, murky brown with a light ring of off-white head. Almost sickeningly-sweet aroma with pears, some darker fruits, and peppery spices. Flavor also found bunches of sweet fruits and peppery spices that rose in prominence as this warmed up.. rather complex, but again too sweet for me. Flowed somewhat well on the palate but was hard to drink a lot of.

Taste on tap at the brewery. Mostly clear red orange color. Thin off-white khaki head. Leaves good rows of lace. Caramel malt, nutty flavor. Lightly spicy, some toasty belgian yeast. Medium to bigger body. More dry finish. Smooth, lighter carbonation, full body. Moderate bitter taste. Light sweet. Solid flavorful belgian ale.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub (Madison, WI). Pours a nice deeper copper hue, some fiery orange, with a frothy offwhite head, dies to a thicker ring, laces ok. Aromas are a touch of yeasty enticing spice, some dark fruit pit cherry, toffee and caramel, faint yeasty spice. Initial is a touch of yeastiness, mellow sweetness pervades with caramel, toffee, breads, a touch of red fruit, yeasty spice, with some light florals, faint bitterness towards the finish.
