drpimento (518), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Jun 8, 2008 Wow! This is just great beer!! Poured with a nice frothy foamy head and some lace. Hazy amber color. Very hoppy aroma with some malt and caramel in there. I don’t pick up on the citrus; but, I do get a real dry chewiness. Great mouth. Satisfying with a clean pleasant finish. Superb session beer. Having a draught of this at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, Wis. USA MartiniFiend (104), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Feb 23, 2008 Vary dark gold in color( almost amber)and cloudy.Strong bold hop aroma and is thick and full bodied to the palate. It has a strong hop taste followed by a mild citrus and ends with a hop flavor mixed with a little maltiness. This is an all around excellent pale ale! ceeman (3), Madison, Wisconsin, USA does not count Dec 29, 2007 One of my favorites. Unfiltered, so it has a very cloudy orange appearance. Good hop punch and citrus taste, without too much grapefruit. Pretty good staying power with a full, bitter finish. Nephilium (436), Ohio, USA Oct 30, 2007 Nice strong citrus hop aroma. This beer pours a golden amber with a thin, fluffy white head. Nice bittering, touch of caramel and citrus (especially orange) in the flavor, moderate bitter finish. Very tasty, just wish I could get it in my neck of the woods. JPDIPSO (4288), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2006 Tap @ On Back In. Lightly hazed dark golden to light amber color with a moderate tight bubbled off-white head. Grapefruit and lightly toasted malt aromas in the forefront, with mild caramel and citrus along with just a hint of alcohol. I like the fact that they are calling this an APA vs. an IPA. The grain bill is much more appropriate for an APA, as most of the so called IPAs out there. Bold hops a mild malt base. Vary much a pure APA, which I must reward them for that. Yes, it is a hopshead brew, but it is an APA that is full of hops flavors and a mild bitter balance.
