12oz bottle. Very cloudy orange with medium slowly diminishing head that laces well. Citrus & floral aroma. Strange floral aftertaste, did I just eat the bouquet of flowers? Long bitter finish with grapefruit or something like it. You wouldn’t think it by the name, but this beer is very hoppy… decent but not stellar.

This one is a citrus bomb! Lots of light fruit on the nose and palate, grapefruit, lemon, orange, and a hint of lime. Caramel malt balances it out nicely so it doesn’t have that hop bite.

Cracked a bottled of this the other night. Standard pale. Meh, not necessary to buy or try again.

On tap at Stolpa’s Stein House. Not sure on the age of this tap, but very little hop aroma and little bitterness. I’ll have to try again.

The appearance has an amber color with a small white head and lots of fine-grain sediment, and the aroma fuses resin and grassy hops with pale malts. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly sour, and the palate fuses a medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture, and a slightly bitter finish.

Golden amber color with minimal head. Aroma is malty / citrus. Taste is grapefruit with a subtle malt finish. One of the best American Pale Ales I’ve had in a while

Tap- Aroma is mild citrus and grapefruit hops. Taste is well balanced with nice grainy malt and subtle citrus hops on finish. Palate is creamy and medium body. Overall a nice tasting beer, I could drink a few of these.

Copper pour; aroma is citrus and grapefruit. Floral hop flavor to start, then smooths out with grapefruit and pine needles. Just enough malt to balance this. Nice beer.

It took awhile for Hopalicious to grow on me. While the light orange appearance and even head were spot on, the malts’ breadiness caught me by surprise. The latter shows up in the taste and aroma. Hops provide a citrusy freshness to the aroma and a juicy taste that appears behind the bread flavor. While I typically prefer my pale ales to be a little more aggressive, I can’t deny the balance and mastery applied to Hopalicious. It’s a one-of-a-kind brew that opts for balance over bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2014 (Thanks Chris "Budznsudz") Bottle. A- Bread, sweet rolls, citrus. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, hops, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Not as abrasive as I was expecting. Nice citrus aromas and flavors. A good IPA that had about a year of age on it. Pretty smooth and sessionable.
