Not much aroma. Chocolate caramel flavor. Slight nuttiness. Smoother than most brown ales.

"Super nice for the style. Chocolate malt, caramel, slight nuttiness in the nose. Barely there hops with smooth chocolate and roast in the flavor. Better than most browns. Thanks Travis. "

Hazy brown with a small, white head. The aroma has caramel and some milk chocolate. It has a medium body with somewhat chewy texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet with an easy finish.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, roasted nuts and caramel. Light-bodied with flavors of roast malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is roasty with a nutty and malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sweet caramel bread doughy aroma very pleasant flavor. Not a great appearance for a commercial small white laced head in dark brown body. Medium sweet taste just right.medium creamy body with a soft carbonation and a long finish. Very enjoyable brew, in fact I think I’ll have another!

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Has a great aroma of bread and caramel. Pours a nice rich black color. Has a really nice blend of smoky, doughy, caramel, malt, with a touch of sweet fruit. The only negative of this beer, is its a little thin. A little more alcohol, and a bit thicker and this would be a 4+. It has such a nice flavor I wish they would crank it up a bit.

(bottle) Nothing like drinking a brown ale on a stiflingly hot and humid day. Pours a deep reddish-brown color with a medium sized cream colored head that retains well. Yep, there’s definitely caramel here, but there’s also a strong component of roasted peanuts as well that elicits a craving for an iced cream concoction containing these two components. Also present is some light roast coffee; not the good stuff, but the kind you get at a Caribou that presents itself as being less charred than its dark roasted brethren. A faint whiff of something vegetal here kind of interrupts the good aromatic vibes. Flavor holds a good amount of caramel, again more light roast coffee, some roasted peanuts, and a little hint of stir fried vegetables with cashews (oddly enough, that’s not a bad thing here). Mouthfeel is pretty full and creamy and the carb could stand to be toned down just a tad, but overall this is an above-average brown ale.

This one is a malt bomb. Sweet caramel and nutty on the nose. Smooth on the palate, with caramel, bread, and nuts. Finishes semi-sweet.
