4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 sunnyridge (222) - USA - APR 6, 2010
One of my favorite dbl IPAs and for an IPA, this feels like a malt monster to me. Definitely big hops going on but a powerful malt backing. Alcohol is definitely apparent but very much a compimenting flavor component. I get orange and grapefruit in the hop notes.

$5 pint draft at the brewery. A hop head delight! Wow, the hops jump out in the aroma and the taste. The bitterness lingers well after it has gone down. Similar to Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere.

12 oz bottle from Jason A. Dark orange/brownish pour with a fluffy white head. Amazing citrus hoppy aroma. Awesome hoppy flavor with a nice malty backbone, thick chewy mouthfeel with a bitterly hoppy finish.

Pours a nice amberish/copper color with a medium off white head. Wonderful huge citrus/grapefruit aromas dominate the nose. Flavor is of great citrusy hops that fade into a nice light malt backing, then the nice final bitter finish. The body seems very mild for a DIPA,but makes this a very easy drinking brew. The only problem is the price is pretty steep to make this a regular in my fridge. Thanks BBL!!!!

Its Jacksin, not jackson Bright grapefruit arom, one of superior quality, hops overshadowing any malt quality, sweet and tangy amlt comes through in flaovr with all kinds of citrusy ornaments, reminding you of the hops you thought would dominate,a very pleasant bitter finish(not really punishing as the label predicts)All the wonderful qualities of a great DIPA. A slightly gentler body makes this an extremely drinkable big hop brew, you can’t say that about most, but the price diminishes the chance that you can in fact have more then 1 or 2

Bottle: Pours a transparent copper amber with a well-lacing froth of off-white head. Aroma of fresh resiny piny and grapefruit citrus hops over a sweet caramel malty backdrop. Body starts with good fullness and lots of juicy flavor hops and resiny bitterness well balance with sweet caramel and toffee before a full, bittersweet finish. A well-made and enjoyable double IPA.

Tasted from bottle purchased at Discount Liquor. Pours clear amber with a thick and rocky off-white head that leaves a massive lace. THe nose is floral and resin hops with a solid sweet malt backbone and good bitterness. The flavor is sweet with a bit of brine (in a good way). The resin and floral hops come through nicely and finish with a pleasant malt and nuttiness. The body is medium plus with average carbonation and a long bitter and sweet finish.
