This classic German Hefe-Weizen is soft and uber refreshing. It is light golden in color, with a hazy appearance. It has a hint of bananas and cloves in the aroma, and a tantalizing sweetness in the finish. If a dewy Spring meadow had a flavor, Unshadowed would be that flavor. At 5.5%, it’s a perfect session beer whether you’re joining us on our patio or taking some home to yours.

Botle. Aroma is quite unique, a bit meaty. Taste is sweet and sour upfront but a creamier, wheat finish, almost banana flavored. A very light and drinkable beer. One that my sister likes!

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a cloudy straw color with a medium foamy white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat, banana and malt. Light body with flavors of herbal wheat, malt and mild hops. The finish is fruity with a banana and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft. Hazy yellow with small white head. Aroma of wheat, clove, citrus, and light banana. Light body, citrus, banana, clove, and a dry finish.

Bottle @ home thanks to TheAlum for sending this my way! Pours a really nice, cloudy, light dull lemon yellow appearance with a lasting, creamy white head. Great head retention and appearance. The aroma is balanced a little more towards the spicy side (especially clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon) rather than the fruity side. There is some lemon in the nose along with some doughy yeast. Light bodied. Lightly tart. Some banana, lemon, and slight tropical fruit in the flavor. Creamy mouth feel. Kind of dull flavor - mostly tapioca and banana - but it is pretty refreshing. Mostly dry finish. Little on the aftertaste. Easy beer to pound but not overwhelmingly fulfilling.

Notes from the Family Hefe Tasting. Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has yeasty banana - light. Taste is blah - banana maybe. 11. This one finished down the line in the tasting, surprisingly so to some.

Pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is bananas and bubble gum. Taste is sweet throughout with a medium body. More bananas, lemon and other fruit and just enough of a bit at the end. Great for a hot day.

Draft. Cloudy yellow with a frothy, white head. Classic (though light) aroma of clove, bubble gum, banana, but then there’s grainy wheat. The flavor moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, slick and thick texture, lively carbonation. The flavor is jumbled and disappointing. Lacking the sweetness and strong yeast flavors that devolve into some acidic tang.

12oz bottle from Binnys single rack. Pours a heavily clouded golden yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is of banana and clove, with a little yeast. Taste has no bitterness and a muted sweetness. Light body, thin on the palate and standard carbonation for a wheat beer. Overall a fine wheat beer, but nothing special.
