This classic German Hefe-Weizen is soft and uber refreshing. It is light golden in color, with a hazy appearance. It has a hint of bananas and cloves in the aroma, and a tantalizing sweetness in the finish. If a dewy Spring meadow had a flavor, Unshadowed would be that flavor. At 5.5%, it’s a perfect session beer whether you’re joining us on our patio or taking some home to yours.

Pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is bananas and bubble gum. Taste is sweet throughout with a medium body. More bananas, lemon and other fruit and just enough of a bit at the end. Great for a hot day.

Draft. Cloudy yellow with a frothy, white head. Classic (though light) aroma of clove, bubble gum, banana, but then there’s grainy wheat. The flavor moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, slick and thick texture, lively carbonation. The flavor is jumbled and disappointing. Lacking the sweetness and strong yeast flavors that devolve into some acidic tang.

12oz bottle from Binnys single rack. Pours a heavily clouded golden yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is of banana and clove, with a little yeast. Taste has no bitterness and a muted sweetness. Light body, thin on the palate and standard carbonation for a wheat beer. Overall a fine wheat beer, but nothing special.

12 oz bottle from Berkots (New Lenox, IL). Bought a six pack for pussypete, stole a bottle to tick. Oh well. Pours a pale straw yellow hue, lively bubbly carbonation cascades through the body with a dulled harvest glow. Bright white frothy layer atop is firm, decent stick around and lacing prevails. Aromas are grainy, distinct flaked wheat, bready malts and cloves meet some peanut shells, touches of earth, mellow banana and faint cool vanilla. Lacks that sweeter oomph with a more dry, distinctly spicy and earthy vibe working it. Initial is dry, a bit metallic and grainy as earthy elements, gentle banana ester starts to grow. Some yeastiness, spice, distinct clovey elements are dry, spicy. Some dry bready malts, gentle straw. Mellow sweetness keeps trying to do a little work but overall a smaller body, firmer spicy/yeast feel kinda rue the day with a bit of peanut butter into the backend. A bit dry, spicy, subtle fruit ester keeps popping just a bit. Finish is dry, earth, that peanut butter like twang keeps popping. Dry and yeasty, some gentle sweetness but overall this just doesn’t match up to my personal tastes for the style. Lacks pop, flavor and life for me. Meh.

On tap at Brady's Brewhouse. A light yellow, very cloudy pour (looks like lemonade!). Not a lot jumps out in the aroma. Medium carbonation. A hint of lemon. Understated, but would be a really good beer to sip on throughout a warm day! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Banana forward with some wheat & pale malts with just a touch of floral hoppiness on the back end of the palate. A good summer beer!

Love. Great Hef with banana aroma. Perfect for the summer. Might be a better version of the two brothers ebel weise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
