Sampled at the Bistro IPA fest. This one was a little off. It’s disappointing because I really like most of their other beers. My notes say it had an aroma of brown sugar and a little tropical fruit. The flavor was apple and tropical fruit with a touch of caramel. It had kind of a phenolic/plastic finish that was not very enjoyable.

Tasted at the Bistro’s 13th Annual IPA Fest 8/7/2010. This IPA pours a medium to dark amber color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and caramel. The hops are herbal and floral. Decent balance. Not a lot of bitterness, but a little shows up at the finish. There is an off/strange flavor I can’t quite figure out, but I don’t think it is suppose to be there. Not bad tasting maybe just not expected. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.
