Flavors are of sweet carmel, maltyness with nutty undertones, subtle hop and fig notes. The Finish - carmel and nuts with a strong malt body with subtle fruity hops. Makes me think of an english barleywine with the sweetness!

12oz bottle courtesy of joeneugs, thanks man! It pours a sort of murky mahogany body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma dishes up molasses, raisins, prunes, sticky pine infused malts and a bit of booze near the end of the draw. The taste is a rich mix of spicy rye bread and resiny pine hops as well as some molasses and then a bit of prunes and raisins. This is rich and good and pleasing from front to back and seems very barleywine like. Nice, boozy, resiny sipper, yum.

Very dark brown pour, tan head. Lots of dates, figs, whiskey, oak, molasses, some chocolate, vanilla, dark sweet bread pudding notes. Cool beer.

Mahogany pour with a small khaki head. Nice whiskey aroma, vanilla, spicy rye malt, and wood. A bit of dark fruit, some chocolate, caramel, and light booze. Tastes of whiskey, rye malt, caramel, and dark fruit. Slight wood character, vanilla sweetness, dark chocolate, molasses, and a subtle earthy hop character.

Bottle. Dark mahogony beer with a tan head. Rich malt aroma with light toffee and light smoke. Smoke and barrel notes (whiskey? Bourbon?) flavor with caramel/toffee. Medium-plus bodied. Smoke and bourbon/whiskey linger with caramel/toffee.

Bottle from City Beer. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a treacle and alcohol aroma. There is a rich dark molasses and chocolate flavor with a slightly sour finish and a warming alcohol trail. Quite delicious.

12oz to snifter freebie throw-in on a trade. Sweet rye and oak aroma. I guess I’m not a fan of the odd rye bitterness/flavor. Creamy and smooth but a huge bitter kick in the pants.

A - Pours a dark brown-black with a touch of frothy white head atop. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of Bourbon, vanilla, oak, rye, some caramel malts, a touch of hops, and some booze.
T - Starts off with a mix of sweet caramel malts with a bit of citrus hops and some vanilla. Through the middle, the spicy rye comes through with Whiskey and oak alongside a bit more hop character. The finish is full of Whiskey, oak, vanilla, rye, and caramel malts with some booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with mild-plus carbonation. Feels smooth with a warming, spicy, and sweet finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice imperial rye flavor with the barrel aging complementing the beer nicely.

Bottle. A brown color with minimal head. A deep dark fruit aroma with raisins and plums. A nicely warming feel. Its not too sweet and manages the whiskey influence well.

On tap at City Beer poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, carmel, dark fruit and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bourbon, oak, carmel, dark fruit and light earthiness with a crisp dry lingering bourbon finish.
