100 IBUs and a simple malt profile really show off this IPA’s character and Northern California heritage. Citra and Galaxy hops were used to dry hop this beer into next week!

Hazy orange pour with a tall white head. A very nice nose to this. Plenty of citrus, pine, and floral hops. A slight bready malt sweetness, some herbs, and a touch of wood. The flavor is very bitter and a bit too grassy. Somewhat sweet with a fair amount of bread and toasted malt. Some decent citrus, herb, and pine hop flavors, but too much bitterness and not enough hop flavor.

On tap. Cloudy orange with a creamy white head. Earthy grainy citrus and pine aroma and taste with a nice musty bitter bite and a bright medium bodied palate. Not bad.

Tasted from the firkin at the Triple Rock Firkin Fest April 7, 2012. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the firkin. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and citrusy. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Mild carbonation. Touch of lingering bitterness. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Sub golden, white head, nice presentation. Full piney, PNW and some light phenols - bubblegum - aromas, body is slightly creamy, some appreciable heft/fullness in body, sweet with ample sugars, biscuit sweetness, easy bitter finish. A bit too sweet and hefty for my tastes by the hop expression is still wonderful.

On tap at the Toronado, SF. Nice bright pour, moderately cloudy gold with a lively carbonation and a lasting creamy head. Classic WC IPA, with a nose that’s certainly as buoyant and floral as expected but with an additional sharpness. This certainly is borne out in the taste, as the Citra brings a nice quality to the malts and makes for an overall balanced brew.

On tap at Monks Kettle. Pours cloudy blonde with a decent off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with massive hop bitterness. It works pretty well if you are a hophead.

On tap at Toronado. Pours lightly hazed golden with white head. Aromas of citrus and pine with tropical fruit and light malts. Flavors of mango, grapefruit, bready malts, and some bitter hops. Pretty solid IPA overall.

Tap at the Rubicon. Pours hazy orange gold. Light citrus and evergreen aromas. Flavor is evergreen, light fruit, citrus and caramel. And some floral. Decent bitter. Quite nice. Almost mellow.
