100 IBUs and a simple malt profile really show off this IPA’s character and Northern California heritage. Citra and Galaxy hops were used to dry hop this beer into next week!

Pours a nice golden color with a dense, lasting white head. The aroma jumps out as tropical with some citrus and grass. They used Columbus hops for bittering and a blend of Cascade and Citra for flavor/aroma which is a nice combination. Lots of floral and tropical fruit in the finish. The flavor is well balanced with some light maltiness. This one drinks easy as it’s not heavily bitter but very flavorful. Nice one.

I’d have rated this higher all around, but it seemed tight -in the way a wine needs to breathe sometimes. Like its young and going to develop a little more as it ages --which maybe it does? Darker than you average IPA, with slightly less head. Aroma is tight pine and resin a little bit less of citrus and hibiscus. Flavor is similar in profile to the aroma, plus a little lemon, a little sour and some malt backbone behind it.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body and a lasting white head. Aromas of big time citrus and tropical fruits. Lightly bready and grainy. Citra. Flavors are big tropical fruits, mangos, dry, lightly bready, citrus. Great! Dry (nicely so), medium bubbles. Well done!

Draft. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Nice bitterness. Pine resin and grapefruit lingers with light summer fruit and caramel.

On tap at Monks Kettle. Pours cloudy blonde with a decent off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with massive hop bitterness. It works pretty well if you are a hophead.

Tasted from the firkin at the Triple Rock Firkin Fest April 7, 2012. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the firkin. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and citrusy. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Mild carbonation. Touch of lingering bitterness. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap at the Toronado, SF. Nice bright pour, moderately cloudy gold with a lively carbonation and a lasting creamy head. Classic WC IPA, with a nose that’s certainly as buoyant and floral as expected but with an additional sharpness. This certainly is borne out in the taste, as the Citra brings a nice quality to the malts and makes for an overall balanced brew.
