3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
3/4 pint bottle acquired in a trade. Pours golden with a minimal head. Aroma is tart with hints of grass and lemon. Taste is buttery at once but slides over in a more tart citrusy finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good funky "barnyard" aroma, great blonde look, great sourt/tart taste. The only bad thing I can say is the ABV is so weak it’s almost doesn’t qualify as a beer! Double the ABV, this one would be great.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 2/19/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Jug Shop. Pours mostly clear golden with a thick, rocky white head that leaves rocky lace. The nose is wheat bread forward with some lactic tartness and a touch of fruity gooseberry. The flavor is much more tart and sour forward with the same gooseberry, and the same touch of lightly sweet bread malt. The body is light with a bit of a sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a long very tart lactic finish.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2013 bottle, I assume, thanks to Bytemesis, drunk on 1/30/14
Small off-white head rapidly fizzles to the edges atop a moderately hazy, copper hued body.
Actually seems to be as much or more brett in the nose than there is lacto, which is interesting and a change of pace for the style (though not technically "to-style"). Lots of leather and band-aid very crisp and clear. Light lemony-yogurt notes intermingle on the finish. Aroma strength is medium with just an ever-so-slight touch of diacetyl on the finish, as well (little touch of butter).
Sweeter in the mouth than I’d expect for the style, with brett acids washing over the back of the throat while up front it’s quite lactic-sour. Unfortunately, diacetyl is quite prevalent on the finish, leaving a big buttery popcorn flavor that blunts the beautiful brett and lacto expressions. It certainly dosent ruin the beer, as the acids here are so well done and deliciously lip-smacking, but it certainly puts a bit of a damper on things. Medium body could be a little toned down as well, but this is still a very nicely made (albeit strange rendition) b. weisse. Glad I got to try.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Cloudy, straw colored and light to medium head. Very lactic aroma. Funk, chemical, bretty, wheaty. Sour but not fresh. Old citrus. Dry, very sour and low bitterness. Elegant, long and acid. Unclean palate. Fresh but not refreshing. Dirty brett edge.
Interesting but not right. Looks more like a gueze or something like a flemish beer. Also the weird bretty character I saw in the Bear Republic Cuvee. Close but not good enough.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Bruce’s new pad, from SF via Rilester, 15/10/13.
Lightly hazed golden blonde.
Nose is tarte citrics, lemon rind, sour notes, straw, acidic waft, tartened peaches.
Taste comprises light acidic notes, bitter lemon, orange pith, tarte apricots and peaches.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light throat scraping burn on the way.
This one reaaly seems to divide opinion. I really enjoyed this but would have marked it down as a sour/wild over a BW - too much acid and burn for a simple refreshing BW.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
I love popcorn but I do not love when Berliner Weisses smell like popcorn. Aroma is all popcorn.
Fairly clear pale yellow with a thin white head. Low lacing and no legs.
Flavor is also very popcorn flavored but also a medium light acidity with a touch of a peach character.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency with low alcohol warmth.
Overall this is another bad diacetyl bomb from Ale Industries. Why are they still in existence?

Tasting at Bruce’s new pad. Thanks to Colin for this one. Hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Lemon acid! Bitter hazlenuts. Gueuzey wood. Light dry finish. A mess.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
S: A ton of limes, lacto, oak, hay, lemons, peaches, grapefruit and some banyard funk. P: Very light copper with a thin white head that dispences rather quickly. T: You get some lemony sour notes followed with a taste of corn flakes which really made me not want to tasted this one at all so I will end it here. M: Highly carbonated and light. O: I love a good berliner but I thought this was awful, it didnt smelled bad but once I took a good sip and got corn flake notes, lacto, and all these awful notes, sorry but I couldnt finish this one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Mike out in Sunnyvale, CA. Pours a slightly hazy light yellow with a white head. Nose is citrus, melon and straw. Medium to low soft lactic tartness fades into some bread funky mouthfeel. Citrus first, a little tannic on the finish. Quite nice and refreshing. Funky berliners are fun!
