Bomber from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours brown with a slight beige head. Moderate smoke aroma over some nutty chocolate malt. Med body or better. It does taste smokey. Far from Brew Dog, but very firmly smoky. There’s some chocolate underpinnings, but a smoky malty beer is this. Finishes smoky and not quite dry - but dry enough.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jethrodium (356) - Berkeley, California, USA - JAN 2, 2013
On tap. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. Aroma is smoky with pumpkin and spice. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste has an initial sweetness with smoky pumpkin and a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as some caramel. The finish has more smokiness and some pumpkin with a lingering smokiness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. A tad sweeter than I would like, but still one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had.

On draft at Livermore Saloon. It pours brown with a khaki head. The aroma is nicely smoky with some roasted malt, carmel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Good combo. The flavor is very smoky with some pumpkin flavor coming through with noticeable, but subdued cinnamon and nutmeg. The smoked malt works really well with the spices. A testament to the skill of the brewer. Medium bodied. A really good pumpkin beer. The guys at Ale Industries have been KILLING it lately!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 phaleslu (4459) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Draft at Toronado, served in a pint glass. Pours a deep, mostly opaque brown with a negligible tan head. Rich aroma of roasted malts, mellow smoke, chocolate, brown sugar, peat, and faint autumn spices. I didn’t realize it was smoked pumpkin in there but that makes sense. Flavor hits the same notes but not as powerfully. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a rich, mildly smoky mouthfeel. Really unique beer. Surprised by this one.
