Our flagship beer “Orange Kush” is being moved in a different direction. As our little brewery grows, so does our reach. With our beer now available from Oregon down to San Diego and over to Arizona, having the word “Kush” censored on our label, just isn’t doing it for us anymore. Like the game of telephone, with more and more distance between us and our customers, the story behind the beer loses its meaning. Beginning this December you will start seeing a new label out on the market, we are now calling “Orange Kush” - Golden State of Mind. We are very excited to show off our Golden State of California with this new label, and have begun to use, as much as possible, California grown ingredients.
Golden State of Mind is a California Native Ale brewed with loaclly grown Barley, Oats, and Wheat. Local and Organic chamomile, orange peel, and coriander and added to the finish, which gives this beer an amazingly simple refreshment.

Served on tap in a classic pint glass. Looks and smells the part but there are too many competing flavors going on. Feels confused and disorganized.

Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Pour is deep gold with a slight white head that quickly dissipates, no lacing. Aroma of grass/hay, honey, slight nuts. Does not taste like a Belgian style witbier, more like an Am. Pale Ale with chamomile, coriander, and orange peel. Too heavy on the herbs and spices, seems to dominate the flavor along with a strong hop presence. Decent enough but would prefer the real thing. One of the prettier labels I’ve seen, with a photo of chamomile flowers and barley.

A nice well balanced golden ale. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thin white head. Smells of wheat and sea salt. Taste is wheaty and citrus upfront, with more sea salt in the finish. Had on tap at the taproom.

Had this bottle Oct. 14th because I did not have room for any more bottles in my luggage. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild spiced and some lemon. Dry, mild spiced and orange to citrusy fruity flavored. Mild spiced to herbal finish with a mild malt base. Lightest Wit I ever had.

750 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head. A light fruity nose. A light flavor of lemons, yeast, sulphuric, banana. Not bad.

Small taste at a beer event. Big floral, herbal nose, golden. Sweet, floral, shit loads of chamomile. Some oranges and maybe other spice like coriander. Not as horrible as it should be, and I might like it ice cold, but no thanks.

Bottle shared by Nate at the Hanshin Seed Event. A slightly cloudy golden pour, mild white head. A great floral, hill of wild flowers aroma with the chamomile fairly dominant. The body is smooth & med-light, coriander, vanilla, lemon, chamomile & witbier yeast flavors. Nice stuff. Very nice though I suspect it’d get to be too much in large doses.

Tap. Cloudy golden amber, almost no head, no lacing. Aroma is honey, herbal, floral, hay, pepper, sage. Tons of chamomile. Flavor is light plus sweet, herbal, honey, sage. Medium body, flat carbonation.

Pale golden color with lots if chamomile, honey and citrus in the nose. Floating hanging around make it a bit strange. The mouth is light. With honey orange and flowers. Refreshing. Simple yet enjoyable.

22oz. bottle at a recent bottle share – reviewed from notes. As Uncle Jesse, the aroma is vegetal and herbal, but I guess I should expect that from a chamomile beer. There is a light citrus aroma that goes along with the herbal character. The malt presence is a little sweet, but it rounds it out a bit. Pours cloudy pale yellow with small head that sits on top of the beer. Taste is soapy with more of the cooked vegetal taste. Light honey and orange character with big astringency. Body is medium with low carbonation. Eh, either both the bottles from Ale Industries were old, or something is just really off about their beers.
