Our flagship beer “Orange Kush” is being moved in a different direction. As our little brewery grows, so does our reach. With our beer now available from Oregon down to San Diego and over to Arizona, having the word “Kush” censored on our label, just isn’t doing it for us anymore. Like the game of telephone, with more and more distance between us and our customers, the story behind the beer loses its meaning. Beginning this December you will start seeing a new label out on the market, we are now calling “Orange Kush” - Golden State of Mind. We are very excited to show off our Golden State of California with this new label, and have begun to use, as much as possible, California grown ingredients.
Golden State of Mind is a California Native Ale brewed with loaclly grown Barley, Oats, and Wheat. Local and Organic chamomile, orange peel, and coriander and added to the finish, which gives this beer an amazingly simple refreshment.

Pale golden pour with a white head. Orange, apricot, wheat, and lots of honey. Has some coriander note, but a lot of chamomile, very floral. Coconut, bread, and biscuit malt notes, too. The flavor is sweet up front with huge honey and coconut flavors. Bread, biscuit, orange, and apricot. Chamomile and coriander, a touch of pepper, and light citrus. A bit grassy and bitter on the finish, however.

~Pleasing aroma of orange peel, bread and healthy dose of chamomile and coriander. Very Refreshing. ~Pours a cloudy gold yellow color with small lasting head. ~Strong chamomile flavor with bread and corriander, subtle orange peel. ~Light fluffy body with medium high CO2, chamomile bready finish. ~Love this beer. Had it on tap and and from the bottle. Draft is better. Could drink these anytime anywhere all day long.

Bottle:   Orangish straw in color, dark and dirty, moderate white head, frothy, dies quickly leaving sparce lacing.   Vibrant floral and orange spiced nose.   Smells a touch artificial, but not bad.   Wheaty up front, soft floral notes, candied citrus peel.   This one has a slight plastic aspect about it.   If there were ever to be a Belgian Wit candle, this would be it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Spices on the backside are strong, but not too bright.   Strong citrusy wheaty finish.   Seems like a little bit of lemon crossed with orange.   Tiz okay, but a little perfumy and artificial.

Light orange aroma with some wheat and a bit of a phenolic note. The phenolic has a bit of a plastic note to it and there is something else in the aroma that isn't quite right. Is it nutty? This beer has an odd nut aroma. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow with a thin white head that recedes to the edges where it persists. Flavor is a bit odd. There is a decent orange note but the bitterness is strong and off putting. The wheat character is alright but tastes a bit stale even though it's a Winter 2013 bottle. The phenolic character seems odd and not bright. A bit of a floral character as well. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. The carbonation is a low for the style. The astringency is moderate an definitely too high for a wit or whatever this is supposed to be. Alcohol warmth is low. Overall this beer isn't horrible and might even be the best thing I have had from Ale Industries. Having said that though, this beer isn't very good. It tastes stale and there is an odd character which as it warms I think might be a strong floral note. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It smells like you got slapped in the face with a yeasty pizza crust. It looks like everyone’s love life cloudy pale with minimal head. It tastes like it smells but the with its thin palate the doughy taste dissipates quickly. Whites aren’t my favorite beers and this one wont change that, at the same time i did not hate it for something to switch it up with, probably worth a try. "Yo, this shit tastes like a cookie, a shortbread cookie" - my friend trying this beer with me.

Aroma - tons of orange, some wheat, spices (chamomile). Cloudy straw colored pour, white head with little retention, little lacing. Flavor is heavy on the orange, pleasant wheat malt and light grains, herbal and tea notes, citrus, fairly low bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation. Interesting take, very easy drinking.

22 oz bomber courtesy of bvc. The pour is a hazed golden copper with a three inch off white head. The aroma is soft floral, dried flowers, along with a bitter orange peel, and finishes with dry chamomile tea. The taste is the chamomile up front, very herbal tea like, followed close behind by the bitterness of orange peels, and finishing quite dry with a floral potpourri. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, and the dry floral finish. Tad watery in the finish. Interesting take on the style, thanks for sending my way Brandon.
