Hoppy red ale brewed with Rye malt. Deep ruby red in color, this hoppy American Red Ale speaks to the adventure drinker. Rye malt lends a subtle earthiness and silky body, which complements the big caramel and chocolate malt flavors. Just enough Pacific Northwest hops are added to balance this bold and beautiful beer.

22oz bottle pours a reddy brown color with a bit of head. Lots of malt and good hop balance.

Pours a dark amber color with a khaki head. Caramel, toffee, chocolate, hop and toast aroma. Caramel, chocolate, toffee, earthy hop, pepper, toast and rye flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a caramel, chocolate and rye finish. Was not expecting the chocolate. It’s a nice touch.

Earthy chocolate toffee aroma with a hint of stone fruit. Appearance is dark brown red with large frothy off white head. Taste is nice mild chocolate roast, earthy hops, light bitterness and some sweet toffee. Palate is medium. Roast lays on the tongue. Overall a very nice american brown. Wou;d be more of a standout with a heavier body and a bit more rye. Wouldn’t know there was rye if it wasn’t on the bottle. Still a very nice beer.

Pours a half finger of head on a dark brown body. The aroma is rich with rye, wood and spice. The taste starts with a nice malt sweetness, then turns a little lemon bitter, rye spice finish. The texture is soft and airy with a little fizz. An outstanding ale. Great balance and flavor.

On tap at Harenohi in Osaka. Pouring a reddish mahogany brown with a filmy beige head. The nose is spicy caramel fudge. Medium-light bodied the beer’s flavor is quite an interesting contrast in flavors: earthy rye, fudge, bitter green hops and a touch of spice in the finish. Good enough but it just never seems to meld together for me.

~chocolate and rye in aroma with earthy minty hopiness. ~pours murky brown with creamy rocky off white head ~carbonation bite in flavor, chicane malt and rye with woody hops. ~medium full bodied with very high CO2, lingering roast finish ~carbonation way too high on this. Interesting and enjoyable beer otherwise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad. A little weird. Hard to pigeon hole for sure. Seems boozy to me beyond its ABV.

"interesting beer...seemed casked though it was not. had it with a hearty breakfast. cloudy brown, great interplay with the ample hops, spicy rye, and sweet malt. intruiging beer, makes me want more of there stuff. not as good in the bottle (3.8+ on tap, 3.4 or so bottled)."
