4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted on 2/813 at the SF beer week opening celebration. The full batch now called The Unity, as in Edward finally gets released on 2/9/13. This one seems to be rounding into form nicely. It pours a clear gold/orange with a white head. The aroma is very sour and lactic with low but perceptible funk and bright peaches. Good balance. The flavor is beautiful tart peaches with some crackery and almost cookie like malt near the finish. Barrel influence comes across as a touch of coconut and vanilla. Finishes very tart and lemony. Really nice sour.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Ale Industries. Pours a brilliantly clear, deep-golden color with a modestly retained white head. Lots of bright tropical fruit character and oak coupled to a juicy grapefruity tartness. Mouthwatering and complex. Medium body; lively-ish CO2; juicy, juicy grapefruit and tropical fruit tartness alongside lightly buttery oak and a hint of tannins; delicious, nicely tart, well-developed brett character really bringing out that tropical note, plus bright (American?) oak. Balanced, toasty, lightly tart end. Per Morgan: this beer’s 14 months in the making, 12 months in the barrel. Kudos to Jesse on this one. Nom.
