Brewed in Chicago on the Summer Solstice 2013 by Tom Newman of Celt Experience Brewery, Ben Saller of Atlas Brewing Co. and Jesse Edwin Evans and Samuel Evans of Ale Syndicate. The recipe was inspired by a Celtic legend surrounding the solstice and blends 7 different hops (Cascade, Citra, East Kent Golding, Simcoe, Hallertau, Warrior and Columbus) to create a smooth, citrusy and aromatic double IPA.
At 8.1% ABV and 60 IBUs, Seven Flowers will challenge and excite hop lovers on both sides of the Atlantic.

50cl bottle at the Watford tasting. Thanks Fergus. It pours a slightly hazy golden colour with medium white head. Aroma is flowary and hoppy with mango orange peel. Arching bitterness, grainy orange zest and a yolky mouthfeel. Muddied hop, half citrus half getaway weak tropical. Pine needles and mango. Good one

Very good indeed. Lovely fruit and flower aromas with more on the palate along with clean crisp malt. Superbly balanced and complex and for the strength, supremely drinkable. There are many more fashionable beers out there not half as good as this.

Idiosynkrasie (4025) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2013
330ml bottle. Clear, orangey dark golden to amber colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Slightly sulphuric hop aroma, a touch of egg, initially just backgroundish but lasting and finally assertive citrusy and piney hop flavours, some resin. Taste is initially fruity, bitter hoppy, malty, hints of red fruit, maybe due to the East Kent Golding. Would therefore fit in the category ’Imperial/Double Bitter’ if it existed. Later more IIPA-typical, resinous and citrusy.

Bottle at the Watford tasting, December. It pours deep amber with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is toasty, orange, tangerine, mango, sherbet, parma violets and a touch of chalk. The taste is wood, toast, resin, pine, orange sherbet, papaya, tangy fruit, parma violets, good bitterness and light alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Flavoursome and rather drinkable Nice work.

Celt Experience - brewed in Caerphilly. Bottled. Sweet, toasty, crisp and sharp caramel aroma, high floral tones from the hops and almost sickly sweet from the malt (in a good way). Pours with a massive white foamy head and is medium golden. Complex flavour of the seven hops mixing with a honey sweetnes, well balanced in terms of the sweetness and bitterness, a lot of both, great!

33 cl bottle.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Aroma is very resinous and hoppy, some mandarin, grape fruits, pine needles and some malts. Flavor is a bit malty, resinous hops, caramel, citric fruits and wood. A bit malty bitter palate with a resinous finish. Not the beer I was expecting, flavor wise that is.

Bottled version brewed by Celt Experience in Caerphilly, not Chicago! Hazy deep amber beer with a good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth with mild minerally carbonation. Smooth creamy malt, light caramel. Nice piney hops with a little juicy citrus. Finishes smooth and semi dry with a final carbonated nip and the piney hops turning slightly minty. Very drinkable.
