3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottles shared by the Ale Syndicate guys. Pours a paler gold, good clarity. White head. Nose is fresh hops, kind of old school. Citrus and resin, toasty malt. Straightforward, in a good way. Low floral. On tasting, sharp and overbearing bitterness. Medium-low sweetness. Crisp and clean but the bitterness is too aggressive/harsh. Tone that back and the balance will come together.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy golden orange; lots of carbonation. Big fluffy head, two fingers-worth.
Beautiful hop aroma; very oily pine scent. The malt scent is bready and gives the perfect balance. I could seriously inhale this baby all day.
The taste is absolutely terrific: rounded piney hops, soft malts, a minty finish.
The feel is smooth and medium-bodied. Itís really a wonderful beer; a prototype IPA. Keep it fresh.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This has a handsome pour,m and amber body with a touch of gold topped by a thick ecru head. This aroma is resinous and has touches of grapefruit (pink?) and zest. The malt is quiet in the flavor, a bit of soft caramel sweetness, while the hop tastes, reflective of the nose, fill the mouth. The 50 IBUs provide a sturdy bitterness that begins midway and lasts into the prolonged dry finish. Nice. Simple and nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice fruity hop aroma. Fresh and strong. Nice hazy orange color with a tall tan head. Outstanding malt backbone out of the gate. Rich sweetness with roasty caramel notes, then layered with sharp, bitterness from the hops. Peppery and smooth, bitterness balances nicely with the malt. Hidden in there is citrusy notes of orange. Finishes with a bitter end that lingers. Solid IPA

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours a clear orangish gold with a with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grapefruit and earthy pine with an earthy grain back bone. Flavor has much more of a grapefruit and onion combination with a bit of earthy grain backing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Tap] Hazy deep golden pour with a large cap of white head. Looks more like an unfiltered wheat beer than an IPA. Grapefruit, tangerine and light floral aromas. Taste is more resinous and includes pine sap, citrus, orange zest, grapefruit and lighter bready malts. Excellent balance and nice palate. A great beer!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle, no date, poured into one of those glasses that in the shape of a can. This is the Citra version. Big thick head, bubbly atop an orange colored beer. Gets hazy with the bottom of the bottle. Aroma is a good mix of malt and hops. Hops are orange and tangerine like with the malts providing a solid heft. Same in flavor. A nicely lightly bitter finish. Well made IPA.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2014 An crystal hop IPA is about as down-the-middle as it gets for the style and yet in these troubled times w/ every brewery trying to outdo every other one w/ the best and brightest new hops every year, I find the simplicity of this beer rather refreshing. In the glass, itís clear orange w/ a long lasting head of mixed-sized bubbles. It is big but not overbearing w/ a heaping helping of citrus and pine in the nose. This is a dry beer,, medium light bodied and on the lower end of the alcohol scale for the style and therefor quite drinkable in quantity, which is something I hope to do a lot of in the future. The finish is resinous hops but not so much that it overwhelms or distracts, just a bitterness that clings to the tongue and begs you to take another sip. This is precisely what I want out of hoppy, American ale and there are very few done better by anyone anywhere.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy orange color with a medium and smooth white head. The aroma is very fruity, with lots of pineapple and orange, to go along with grapefruit, mango, and some mild caramel. The taste leans towards being dry, slightly sweet and acidic, with a good hoppy kick. Pine and grapefruit stand out, with still a healthy amount of pineapple and orange. A lingering, though lighter, aftertaste leaves you with orange and grapefruit. Medium bodied, slick in texture, while being about average in carbonation. I enjoyed this one. Its a solid IPA.

12 oz. bottle. The label says this batch is all Crystal hops. It pours a hazed orange amber with a medium off white head. Good lacing. Herbal and spicy hop aroma. Somewhat woody, earthy, and green. Flavor is clean, bitter, spicy hops. Tangy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Finishes bitter, clean. This is nice.

Bottle: Pours a coppery golden hue with an okay and good lace. Tasty all Cascade IPA, moderate juicy citrus and resiny pine on both the nose and palate, biscuity malts and a hint of caramel. An easy drinker.
