COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Municipal IPA is an all-Crystal ale, giving it a floral aroma and slightly spicy flavor. Well-balanced and refreshing, it’s everything we think a good IPA should be."

Bottles shared by the Ale Syndicate guys. Pours a paler gold, good clarity. White head. Nose is fresh hops, kind of old school. Citrus and resin, toasty malt. Straightforward, in a good way. Low floral. On tasting, sharp and overbearing bitterness. Medium-low sweetness. Crisp and clean but the bitterness is too aggressive/harsh. Tone that back and the balance will come together.

Rich copper and bronze coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright grassy and piney hops with a nice malt scent as well, coupled with some nuts and earthiness, but also a touch of sugars. Medium-bodied; Super nice fresh hop flavour with pine and resin the strongest along with a good malt backbone and some subtle caramel sweetness, but this is all about the fresh hops that show very well. Aftertaste is rich and very hoppy with a good deal of bitterness and citrus flavours on the finish with a great balance of malt as well. Overall, a very nice IPA that is distinctly NOT West-Coast styled, and it shows very well - definitely worth trying and/or packing up in a suitcase to bring home! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago (Streeterville), Illinois on 11-May-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 14-June-2016.

On tap @ Radio Maria.Clear medium gold, aroma and flavour are more cereal than hop centered. Weak.

Bottled. Has a cloudy taste. Has a light watery palate. Has a medium floral and grassy hop taste. Orange zest with a hint of gratefruit hops. The after taste has a light citrus taste.

Bottle poured in a tulip. Cloudy burnt orange with a thick white head and nice lacing. Aroma is soap, bubblegum, citrus, peach, and pine. Flavor is citrus and pine with some tropical juicy fruit as well. Dry bready malts are in the background. Taste is somewhat dry throughout. Good IPA.

Pours a golden yellow with a hint of haze and a cream colored head. The smell is toasted grain, tangerine. The taste is as it smells with a dry yeasty end. Light with average carbonation.

Bottle. Amber copper color. Aroma and flavor of grapefruit hops. The profile is very similar to GI Honkers but turned up a notch. Flavor grows on you but not the bitterness. Not too shabby.

Taste is pine, floral, grass. Not much of an aroma to be honest. Palate is a nice thin body.

12 ounce bottle. A murky amber brown beer that has a full one finger layer of off white foam. Nice lacing. A nice fruity aroma. Citrus and tropical. Complex fruit is tasted early. Moderate bitterness. Some tartness in that bitterness. There is some spiciness that is like rye-lite. It is just a little bit juicy. Decent stuff.

Nothing to complain about here, this is a sessionable IPA with a balanced malt profile of light caramel and floral citrus notes. Finishes with a backbone of mildly spicy hops. Feels a bit thin for the style, but easy-drinking and pleasant.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is plenty of fruity hop aromas. Flavor is again a nice fruity hop with some caramel malt in the backround that stays out of the way. Decent but nothing overly exciting. I don’t know what hops are used and they are just kind of there instead of bringing more of a juicy hop to the forefront.
