COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richie Imperial Porter is powerful and complex. Made with roasted barley and chocolate malts, it balances sharper flavors with a clean, semi-sweet finish.

Dfonorow (1455) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2013
On tap. Pour is close to black with medium-sized tan head. Aroma is dry and earthy with notes of roasted grain, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. Taste is much like the aroma with more hop presence and a nice bitter/dry finish. A bit thin for the ABV, but this is a great imperial porter. Perfect to the style.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 14/20
DuffMan (6802) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 24, 2013
On tap @ Farmhouse. Dark brown, nearly opaque. Aroma centers around dark roasted malts, but the palate opens sweeter with chocolate and a little caramel, finishing with a dry burnt malt bitterness with ashy undertones. Solid.

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
NobleSquirrel (3437) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 5, 2013
Draft at Owen & Engine. Pours near black with a nice tan head. Nose is toasty with a chocolate slant. Clean and rich. Light molasses and some faint hopping. Chocolate forward with some charcoal. On tasting, big bitterness and crisp. Slight acrid notes detract but full body and chocolatey with a drying roast finish. Nice, will be interested once their brewery is up and running.

   AROMA 9/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 9/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 17/20
jstraw (1922) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2013
Draft at Jerry’s. Black with big, creamy tan head, some legs / Big, dry, earthy nose of roast grain, tobacco, weed, caramel / Medium body, lively carbonation, a hint thin, but otherwise good balance and hoppy bite, very dry with nice bitter finish / Flavors of bittersweet chocolate, dark roast coffee, pine, weed, tobacco, licorice, lemon / A very fine dry porter/stout - a little more oomph to the body, and this is something.

deyholla (6660) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - MAR 25, 2013
On tap at Bangers & Lace. Pours near black with a creamy chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts and chocolate with some musty dark grains. Flavor has creamy chocolate and roasted malts with some underlying mealy dark grains.
