Small white head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Fruity resiny gooseberry aroma with floral notes. Dry resiny wooden gooseberry taste. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel, slightly flat. Dry pineapple and wood aftertaste with resiny notes. It’s ok, but a bit over-ripe and low on anything else. (0.5l bottle, odd bins, Edinburgh.)

Bottle at home. Pours a light clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is absolutely bizarre - vinegar, raspberry, toasted marshmallow. Taste is just as bizarre - winey vinegar, tarte berries, fermented apple - sour and foosty tasting. I have a feeling this bottle may be off, so I do feel bad for giving this a low rating but it’s all I have to go by. I will make a point of sourcing another in the hope this was just a bad batch/bottle.

Aroma: floral hops, caramel, bread malts, some pine. Appearance: clear gold, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: bitters continue, biscuit, toffee, caramel in the background, very bitter finish. Overall: fantastic Golden Ale, amazing palate one of the best I’ve tasted in this style. Bottle from Oddbins, Pimlico.

Rich gold. Aroma isn’t huge and is mostly of toffee. Taste has a hint of (non-hop) resin and minerals. The finish is in most respects similar to that of their Rhapsody (some good citrus and light grains) but with a little more toffee. The hops may build if one has a larger portion. A quite light and pleasant golden ale, though not an exciting one.
Unusually, Phil didn’t have this.

Blonde paille limpide, grosse mousse à fine bulle laissant une belle dentelle. Nez floral, citron vert, caramel. Les saveurs sont légères et, bizarrement, plutôt maltées, houblons herbeux, forte amertume bien persistante en bouche. Pour le style, cela ressemble plus à une bitter. Bière pour les amateurs d’amertume sèche !

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with huge, thick, frothy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Zesty, citrusy hoppy aroma, fruity notes of yellow stone fruit, berries, tangerine, orange zest. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally chalky, cautious fruity notes of gooseberry, a touch of peach, biscuit malty basis, subtle sweetness; light, slightly watery.
