1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle at home. Pours a light clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is absolutely bizarre - vinegar, raspberry, toasted marshmallow. Taste is just as bizarre - winey vinegar, tarte berries, fermented apple - sour and foosty tasting. I have a feeling this bottle may be off, so I do feel bad for giving this a low rating but it’s all I have to go by. I will make a point of sourcing another in the hope this was just a bad batch/bottle.

(Cask at Peterborough BF 2015)
Rich gold. Aroma isn’t huge and is mostly of toffee. Taste has a hint of
(non-hop) resin and minerals. The finish is in most respects similar
to that of their Rhapsody (some good citrus and light grains) but with
a little more toffee. The hops may build if one has a larger portion.
A quite light and pleasant golden ale, though not an exciting one.
Unusually, Phil didn’t have this.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Blonde paille limpide, grosse mousse à fine bulle laissant une belle dentelle. Nez floral, citron vert, caramel. Les saveurs sont légères et, bizarrement, plutôt maltées, houblons herbeux, forte amertume bien persistante en bouche. Pour le style, cela ressemble plus à une bitter. Bière pour les amateurs d’amertume sèche !

Zesty, citrusy hoppy aroma, fruity notes of yellow stone fruit, berries, tangerine, orange zest. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally chalky, cautious fruity notes of gooseberry, a touch of peach, biscuit malty basis, subtle sweetness; light, slightly watery.

From a bottle in Edinburgh.
This is a pale ale with all the hops expected for style, and then some, but with a huge load of caramel malts.
Really enjoyed this pale ale which stands apart from the U.K. norm. Malty and hoppy at the same time, with less cancellation by competing flavors than usual.
