2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Small white head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Fruity resiny gooseberry aroma with floral notes. Dry resiny wooden gooseberry taste. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel, slightly flat. Dry pineapple and wood aftertaste with resiny notes. Itís ok, but a bit over-ripe and low on anything else. (0.5l bottle, odd bins, Edinburgh.)

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle at home. Pours a light clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is absolutely bizarre - vinegar, raspberry, toasted marshmallow. Taste is just as bizarre - winey vinegar, tarte berries, fermented apple - sour and foosty tasting. I have a feeling this bottle may be off, so I do feel bad for giving this a low rating but itís all I have to go by. I will make a point of sourcing another in the hope this was just a bad batch/bottle.

(Cask at Peterborough BF 2015)
Rich gold. Aroma isnít huge and is mostly of toffee. Taste has a hint of
(non-hop) resin and minerals. The finish is in most respects similar
to that of their Rhapsody (some good citrus and light grains) but with
a little more toffee. The hops may build if one has a larger portion.
A quite light and pleasant golden ale, though not an exciting one.
Unusually, Phil didnít have this.
