COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We had Cairnpapple XH banned for being too hoppy @SRAF, so we put more hops in this one.

cask at cloisters. retired, or back from the grave? thick head, deep golden. sweet nose, caramel and toffee. complex fruit profile a little hard to separate on account of the hop blast which, for the record, I do enjoy... oily mouthfeel and peppery finish that lingers. it’s basically an overhopped cairnpapple? not at all bad but alechemy can, and has, done better.

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Amberish coloured beer, very clean-looking, with a nice white head. All kinds of fruit on the nose – peach, pineapple, orange, pear. Everytime I went back for another sniff I got something different. As Benjii says, there’s some blackcurrant in there as well. Very orangey on the flavour, before all of the other fruits arrive on a platter of caramel toffee. Only a small platter, however, this one is a fruity hop bomb [03102012]

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma of blackcurrant, passion fruit, pineapple, orange sherbet and caramel. Similar flavours and nicely bitter with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Nice and dry to finish. Lovely!

Tap at southern. Golden amber with white head. Aroma is remarkable, lots of peach and some apricot. Similar taste with some caramel and honey. A little sweet with a bitter finish. Top stuff

Cask at Southern. Pale orange amber, bubbly off-white head. Weird sweaty note to the nose Whyy. Hop resin? Or possibly (probably) bad cellarmanship? Grr. Hmmm. Anyway, touch of grapefruit, white pepper, orange zest and caramel malt underneath. Thankfully tastes better than the smell - juicy grapefruit, mandarin, mango, nice powerful bitterness. One for the hopheads perhaps. But very tasty. Could be even better in.better nick. Tonnes of character for the ABV though! Well done.

Cask @ The Abbotsford, Edinburgh 250912
Golden amber, light haze, dense white pillowy head, good lacing
Aroma - citrus resinous hops, soft grassy hops, caramel malts, grapefruit, soft tropical fruits
Taste - citrus fruity hops, very hoppy, tinned grapefruit, bitter grassy hops, sweet caramel malts, quite complex, lot of flavour here
Palate - soft carb, medium body. mainly bitter hops. Finish a bit dry, fruity grassy quite fiery bitter hoppy linger...oh I’m getting that tinned grapefruit again (!)
Overall - Very hoppy beer, lots of flavour, perhaps if the hops are toned down just ever so slightly it’ll be excellent
