cask and bottle, regular<br /Originally called “Cockleroy”, this classic Alechemy recipe has been renamed “Black Aye PA”. This ale is an intriguing juxtaposition of dark malt combined with the full citrus aromas of a traditional IPA.

Cask conditioned handpump Lyric London 13/05/13. A very very dark purple coloured beer with a whitish head. A tasty hoppy black beer with lots of coffee and some sweet malts. Hops are berry fruit domianted rather than your typical citrus. Quite complex but really too sweet and too much coffee for a BIPA. Probably divides opinion but I liked it.

2014-07-10. Black body modest frothy beige head. 3++ Aroma is mild dusty dry roast. Flavour is fairly dry and bitter throughout. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Feels like it warrants more gravitas to the mouth feel. Just okay, unbalanced. Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival

Dark brown. Smells a bit gamey...taste is blandish, buttery and without any real substance. Just a lot of disappointing.

Med brown, bubbly head. Aroma toasty, with light woody hop notes. Taste is like hoppy brown ale, full of toast and c hop marmalade.
