330 ml bottle. From alesbymail.co.uk.
Behind my advent calendar door #6. Dark reddish brown colour with a small light tan head. Sweet malt, cocoa, chocolate, mild roasted malt and only a small hint of hops in the aroma. The flavour is roasted malt, ashy dryness, hops, bitterness and harshness. Very strongly hopped porter this is. Unbalanced.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of roastiness, dark chocolate, licorice and earth. Flavour of strong dark roastiness, strong bitterness, raisin, chocolate, floral notes and some salt. Medium bodied. Lovely rich, lingering bitter, heavy finish. Great stuff.

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£2.80):
My third Alechemy beer and sadly this one was the worst of the three but it’s certainly not a bad or disappointing beer, it’s just that the previous two were so good. This one is an enjoyable black IPA if taken on its own merits and it goes down well with a nice hoppy flavour throughout, I just felt that the darker malts and roasted flavours were a touch too strong but it’s still a very nice beer.

Black beer. Aroma has some soft sweet nites. Taste has a roasted touch to heavy bitterness. Dry hop afterburner finish. This is the type of palate I want on a black ops.

Bottle. Black with a medium body. Citrus and hops merge together with some bitterness thrown into the pot .A great example of this style which I am beginning to take a liking to. Worth trying.
