black, brown head. A huge, very huge brown head. It took over ten minutes before I could finally take my first sip! So, highly carbonated. High, but still rather soft and really quite nice. It’s a very drinkable stout with mild roosted malts, hints of coffee and dark chocolate and some hop bitterness. Good brew.

Bottle at home (april 13, 2013) Black with a tan coloured massive head that stays forever. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and a dark cherry. Taste of bitter coffee, milky chocolate , dark red fruits, a resin, licorice and burned caramel. Quite nice hoppy as wel, especially in the aftertaste. Also an unpleasant metallic note. Unfortunaly too much carbonation.

Many thanks to Elisabeth & Stefan for sharing a 330ml bottle bought at the brewhouse in Riga. Huge, very huge, and dense, rocky, beige head leaving spotty lacework on the glassware. Promising smell of coffee and grainy malts. Taste of dark chocolate, ash and dark fruits. Bittering malty ending. Rather intense foamy mouthfeel. Quite nice (Tromsø, 04.04.2013).

Almost black with rich light brown cap. Rich coffee notes in good rich stout taste. (I’m not a stout lover, so otherwise probably i’l give one star more)

Really nice black stout. Beautiful big uneven head on black beer. Sour notes and also coffee. The head, though the result of too much carb, is a thing of beauty. Bought at a store in Alkmaar.

Tap (ALEhouse, Riga)
Pretty much black, with a huge tight tan head. Nice chocolatey aroma - soft and inviting. Slightly watery palate, decent carbonation. Crisp and refreshin, but the carbonation makes it too burpy. Mellow roast in the taste, with just a background hint of ashy burntness. Very easy drinker, no sign of 6% at all, but a bit fizzy.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, big foamy light-beige head. Aroma of ash, tar, hard roasted malts, some plain chocolate. Flavour is Belgian chocolate, ash, hard roasted malts, tobacco, bitter coffee, tar, hoppy and hard roasted bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Extremely high carbonation that detracts from the drinking experience.

Bottle shared from Deanso. Pours black with a massive bubbly tan head. Aroma of fresh grassy and fruity hops, rich roast, light coffee and chocolate. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration. Medium bodied with high carbonation.

Bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Opaque dark brown to black color, huge light brown, a bit creamy, slightly lacing head that lasts for a decent while. Smell malts, slightly hops, slightly some sourness. Taste is almost the same: malts, slightly hops, lightly sourish, also a hint of coffee and bitter. A bit fizzy carbonation, ok body. Overall a bit unbalanced imo.
