3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sehr starke Karbonisierung. Dann angenehm und weich dunkel malzig, fast schokoladig, was aber durch die hohe Karbonisierung überdeckt. Röstiger, gleichzeitig spritzig, ab dem hinteren Mittelteil etwas hopfig. Gut. 13/10/8/11/9/11

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweetish roasty flavor with licorice and chocolate. Fizzy. Good, but too much carbon to be really enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap (ALEhouse, Riga)
Pretty much black, with a huge tight tan head. Nice chocolatey aroma - soft and inviting. Slightly watery palate, decent carbonation. Crisp and refreshin, but the carbonation makes it too burpy. Mellow roast in the taste, with just a background hint of ashy burntness. Very easy drinker, no sign of 6% at all, but a bit fizzy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Many thanks to Elisabeth & Stefan for sharing a 330ml bottle bought at the brewhouse in Riga. Huge, very huge, and dense, rocky, beige head leaving spotty lacework on the glassware. Promising smell of coffee and grainy malts. Taste of dark chocolate, ash and dark fruits. Bittering malty ending. Rather intense foamy mouthfeel. Quite nice (Tromsø, 04.04.2013).

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle thanks to Dutchdrebus. Opaque dark brown to black color, huge light brown, a bit creamy, slightly lacing head that lasts for a decent while. Smell malts, slightly hops, slightly some sourness. Taste is almost the same: malts, slightly hops, lightly sourish, also a hint of coffee and bitter. A bit fizzy carbonation, ok body. Overall a bit unbalanced imo.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, big foamy light-beige head. Aroma of ash, tar, hard roasted malts, some plain chocolate. Flavour is Belgian chocolate, ash, hard roasted malts, tobacco, bitter coffee, tar, hoppy and hard roasted bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Extremely high carbonation that detracts from the drinking experience.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The poor of this stout is very dark brown to black. an explosive grew of it’s foamy head leaves a very very big tan to light brown head. At first it’s airy like holes in a cheese and disappears really really slow. Than with the second poor it’s texture is more thick and vast and again slow disappearing, or better, changing into a sticky unequal spreaded with holes, lacing on top of a dark to black colored beer.
The aroma’s that hit the nose first are roast, carbo gass some floral notes and some coffee hints.
The taste is a bit darker and fuller than the aroma’s.
There are good roast notes: roasted barleys, roasted grains, coffee roast and some hints of wood roast.
And also notes of dark chocolate, cacoa, chalk, hint of yeast, hops, floral notes and coffee.
The aftertaste excists of a medium but firm bitterness, good roast, coffee, and something dark floral.
The carbonation is low to lightly medium, mouthfeel is soft and light foamy, very good medium bodied stout with a bite and a creamy texture.
Very nice stout with a funny warning on it’s label.
