Cask at The Wenlock Arms. Black with a lively light brown head. Chocolate and roast aroma. Roasted flavours, some chocolate and moreish characteristics. Light-bodied. More stouty than chocolatey.

cask at wenlock arms, hackney. Cocoa aroma, some roasted malts hint through. Pours a dark brown coloured beer. Taste is malty. Roasted malts. Clean fresh water. Soft mouth. Some hops in the finish. Nice.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Coventry Beer Festival.
Awesome dark chocolate brown colour, possibly a little out of condition but hey. Big chocolate malt aroma with some good hoppage in the background. Rich and dark flavour with equally as much chocolate as the aroma. Could do with a little more roast character really. A little chalky in the finish. Struggling to hang onto life but still a reasonable drop.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Coventry BF. A black, still looking beer. A really nice aroma of chocolate, roasty smoky malts and nice hops. The taste is mild and slightly chocolatey. Very bitter late on and actually too sharp in the mouth.

Covfest ’08. Pitch and headless. Deep and smoky, but the Bourneville’s a bit freshly-melted and obvious. What am I talking about? Delicious, clingingly bonfire smoky stout more than capable of standing up to Fuller’s London Porter.
