A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock. Dark and murky mid brown. Slight sourness, chocolate, coffee, light hoppage, nice malts, bready, toffee, complex and very tasty. Especially pleasing on the nose. Lovely fruity finish. Jolly good mild.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 8 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour, almost black. Frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with dark bread and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark bread, dark fruit and a dry, roasty finish. On the thin side, but definitely drinkable. Decent mild.

Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt with licorice and chocolate. Dryish roasted flavour with a little fruit, and a little roast malt acidity in the finish

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Queen Adelaide Northampton. A black coloured mild with a loose off-white head. The aroma has sourish chocolate and some lactic character. The taste has big chocolate and sourish fruits. Bitter in the end. Ok.

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms, London. Full of apple flavour so not sure what it was. Perhaps the glass had been used for cider beforehand and not washed properly

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, Islington, London N1, UK. Clear dark brown color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, slight sourness licorice / vinegar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (281207)
