Cask-conditioned at the Lower Red Lion, St Albans, 8/6/07. Near black with reddish tones and very little head. Aromas of dark fruits, chocolate and roasted notes. Flavours of black currants, coffee and more plain chocolate. An enjoyable mild.

Half pint gravity fed from the cask at the Ealing Beer Festival, poured a darkish brown with no head. A good flowery malt aroma. Was a bit watery with a plain malt taste. Wasn’t great (like "old socks" a companion told me).
