Cask@St Albans BF. Deep brown to black. Aroma is a little bacny. palate is thin and watery, with an annoying acidic quality. Light roasted malt flavours. Not a hell of a lot going on otherwise.

Cask at Craft Beer Co. Pours a thick dark brown with a slight beige head. There is a heavy roasted malt and black coffee/dark chocolate aroma to this beer which is very inviting. A touch thin but also creamy and oily on the palate. It has a rich coffee taste and a lingering bitter roast malt aftertaste. A nice beer but a little one-dimensional. Satisfying and certainly not bad it just seems to be lacking another side to its character .

Clear medium to dark black color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beigeto off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, burnt, prune, wood - tobacco. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and modrate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090418]

Cask (gravity dispense) at St Albans Beer Festival, September 2006. Named because Dr Feelgood were the music act on Saturday evening. Quite dark. Flat, dull mouthfeel. Rather sweet, but ashy at the same time. Didn’t taste too fresh or lively to me. Not a well put together beer.
