Cask at the Wenlock Arms, 19th April 2008, with Chris, Ian, Mes & the gang. Perfect golden colour with a great hoppy aroma. Lovely hop bite to the taste with some grapefruit notes. Very refreshing and served in perfect condition. This is a sublime session beer.

Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, April 2008. Golden colour. Thin white head. Good floral hoppy aroma. Plenty of hoppy flavour for 3.8%. Nice clean mouthfeel. Alehouse’s brews seem to be getting increasingly assured, albeit with the odd misfire - this certainly isn’t one of those. Not sure what the NCR 21 business is about - seems to be some sort of machine connected with train tickets, so this is probably a commemorative beer connected with trainspotting.

Cask handpull at Wenlock. I thought it was called NCR21, but my eyesight is going. Typical Alehouse beer, pale gold, lovely citrus aroma. Good tangerine. Really lovely fruit and hop and right in my alley. Good sherbert.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock.
Slightly hazy gold with a thin but well behaved white head. Big grassy hoppy stuff with slight tobacco and sweaty feet (in a pleasant way if that’s possible!). Wonderfully bitter and citric with plenty of dry lemon and delicate straw and wheaty notes. Plenty of character, very drinkable. Another very good Alehouse beer.
