Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Northampton BF. I had to pick the strongest beer at the festival for my last one and at the same time my 2000th rating here. This is a big English style barley wine which reminded me in many ways of JWLees Harvest in its taste profile. This is a hazy mahogony colour with afrothy tan coloured head. The aroma is big and malty with berry fruits. It has a certain Belgian moussey fruit quality to the nose. The taste is big and bold and full and very tasty. Lots of malt, lots of alcohol, lots of fruit, lots of flavour. Not in your face big, more constrained, and balanced. A good choice.
