3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 11, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Black as original sin and completely opaque. Flat without a trace of CO2. Vinous, slightly acidic aroma. Same characteristics dominate the flavours. Smoked - but not burned - notes, tart but not sour. Hoppy but not really bitter. Existing somewhere in the borderland between a Porter and a Barley Wine. Yeasty sediment. A unique experience. 280502
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ThomasE (5176) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2004
Dark brown, almost black in colour with small beige head. Very low carbonation. Aroma and flavor is dry with hints of tar. Very similar to the danish beer called "skibsøl" from Refsvindinge Brewery.

Bottled. The last I’ve bottle I had from this now gone microbrewery. Dark black with rich head. Peppery chocolate aroma. Sweet and fruity, not overly malty. Thick mouthfeel and coffee in the finish.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Hildigöltur (5107) - København, DENMARK - JUL 31, 2002
Almost black with no head and very low carbonation. Porter-like aroma with notes of coffee. Extremely bitter and rather strong taste. It tastes like flat and highly concentrated Guinness would taste. Definately pure tar. The very last of the bottle (with the sediment) is really knocking you out if you drink it (or should I say eat it?!!)too fast. The label looks funny with a big brain and it is clearly from a microbrewery (seems like they’ve used a very bad printer machine to produce them).
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Mads Langtved (2246) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - JUL 31, 2002
This ale is pure tar. I would’nt be surprised if the skippers use this ale to smear the gunwales. Absolutely no head at all!
