COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alesmith and Cigar City have once again partnered up for our second coast-2-coast collaborative brew, a delicious rye brown ale.

Worn out and tongue-tied from rhyming countless beer-centric names with “rye,” we knew it was finally time to quit rambling on and figured “Rye bother”…let’s brew. The result is a rich, malty Roggenbier that is riddled with notes of chocolate and biscuit that perfectly compliment the soft spiciness of the rye. Grab a pint and toast to the coasts.

This balanced and complex brew pairs best with smooth cigars and life-long friends.

Deep mahogany brown with a dense beige head, solid retention and excellent lace. Modest mint and earthy rye spice aromas, with citrusy hops, dark bread and grains in the background. Taste is rich rye bread, cocoa, light coffee grounds, citrus and a touch of mint. Medium body, syrupy and creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation and a roasty, spicy, robust finish.

Bottled, pours deep mahogany with clear edges and a small off white head. Medium carbonation releases aromas of smoke, peat moss, rye malt and wet soil. Flavor is spicy rye, brown sugar and charred wood. Fairly thin body that finishes with moderate acidity from the rye. Pretty tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber pours with a deep red amber body that supports a mocha colored head of foam. The modest aroma offers up malts, subtle nuttiness, a dash of brown sugar and then faint earthy tobacco. The taste starts with a mix of smooth mildly sweet malts and modest pine to floral like hops. It gets into sweet nuttiness and spicy black licorice like hoppiness. Toward the finish it picks up a nice spicy rye twang sensation that is working very well here. Pretty nice brown ale.

Bomber from Bine and Vine. Pours ruddy dark brown with a foamy beige head. Lots of rye spice in the aroma. Med body. Flavor is fairly sweet roast malt with a touch of nut and a lot of rye and chocolate. Finishes a bit bitter to balance the malt. Very balanced. Tasty.

Really nice rye brown ale, that is just coincidentally 8.5% abv. Malted chocolate and a little bready/biscuit malt...spicy rye...light roast. Nose and flavor complex yet easy drinking too. I definitely appreciate this one."

Inky black with tan creamy head that leaves ample lacing; fruitcake and candied fruit along with wet tobacco on the nose; soft mouthfeel with an oily bitter finish. More like a Russian imperial stout for all its dark malts than a brown. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 11C. Dark brown with a beige head that settles to 1/2 a cm. Aroma of rye bread, brown sugar, some chocolate, hazelnuts. Lowish carbonation, quite smooth. Sweet bread with spiced chocolate, some dark fruit or berries and nuts. Kind of low key for something quite strong, but very agreeable - tasty enough, mellow and balanced. Like the way the bitterness and spices grip briefly towards the end and then gently let go. Really nice, strength costs it .1.
