Bottle @ Belgian Brewfest. This was not as exciting as I hoped. Still an interesting and complex brew.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 snzcujo (274) - RUSSIA - NOV 14, 2012
Tasted from the bottle, on 13/11/2012.
Pours of lovely hazy color, just with a tiny head.
Aroma is strange, with bready notes, not very intense.
Mouthfeel is mild and low-carbonated.
Taste is quite flat, interesting, caramely sweet, with some fruity notes as well.
Aftertaste is good and sweet.
Neutral.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks Ariel. Murky honey amber with a white ring. Very sweet honey aroma, and a somewhat violently sweet taste. Fizzy, full body, long, fruity finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 DeliriumT (327) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 2, 2012
Pours a hazy light copper colour with minimal head that doesn’t stick around for long. The smell is a sweet bouquet of fresh wet yeast and caramel. You can definitely taste the Mikkel influence here. The flavour is abrupt (Mikkel is not exactly known for subtle flavours) and lacks the subtle fullness of a well aged westmalle. But like most Mikkeller beers the flavour is obvious and very well thought out. Very enjoyable.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Brandman (1440) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 26, 2012
- hazy golden, white head
- fruits, maybe too much hops, not yeast
- american belgian ale, too much alcohol, resiny hoppy and too much malty
- slightly unblanced
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Holmen1 (1075) - NORWAY - JUN 15, 2012
Fra flaske på Cardinals Mikkellertreff: flasken var fra 2007 og antakelig litt oksydert. Sødmen går over i bitterhet med en vammel slutt. 8,7%.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gunnar (3594) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAY 28, 2012
From bottle at Cardinal. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malty, wheat, alcohol and prunes. Taste is malt dominated, with some light warming spicy elements, traces of butterscotch, but dries up towards the end, almost astringent bitter finish.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2013 Bottle; Pour is murky medium golden in hue with a frothy white head initially; becomes a fine bubbled average head with a little time, with some average lacing in this glass. This one has a terrific nose to me ; lemon grass, some dustiness, sweet bread, and florals. The flavor profile has some nice depth, yet this brew at this point has an excellent and clean feel all around. Initial is lightly bitter, with some musk and basement somewhat present, while more florals and sweet syrup and bread some through, finishing with a bit of lemon zest and a hint of booze, surprisingly. I never had this one when it was fresh, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one as it is.
