COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

Pours copper with beautiful thick tan head. Classic esb aroma and flavor: toffee, caramel, English hops... really a comfort beer. Nice nutty notes and lightly roasted malt.

650mL bottle pours a nice amber color with off-white head which has great retention and leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma of roasted malts and some citrusy hops. Taste is caramel sweetness balanced nicely with some fruitiness and a mild hop bitterness in the finish. Nice carbonation and modest body leave a nice feel on the tongue. This beer is full flavored yet smooth and easy to drink. Very enjoyable.

GABF 2011. Very dark nutty copper, nice creamy off beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, pecan and caramel. Flavor had some nice nutty caramel toffee tone, with a nice bitter finish. Balanced and lovely.

Not much hop to it at all, more on the lines of a scotch or dark for me. It didn’t have have that refreshing bitterness I expected. Very malt forward, metallic, caramelly and quite dark. Not what I was expecting at all from this dark red brew. Not much head on it either. A bit disappointing.

Pours a caramel/brown color with a thin tan head...lively. aroma has caramel, some nuttiness, some earthy notes, and a bit of fruit...not sweet. Flavor is very nutty with hints of chocolate, fruity yeast notes, and a bit of caramel. Mouthfeel is silky and the finish is lightly roasty with a hint of nuts and chocolate.
